Week 6: Things Are Getting Interesting

As we now turn our attention to Week 6, there are going to be some major shakeups in the Top 25, but that’s why we list so many schools – to give them their recognition.
This will be a week where several Top 25 teams will clash.
Here is a look at the latest ranking from Florida Prep Redzone, heading into Week 6:
1. Bradenton IMG Academy (Independent, 5-0).Remained unbeaten after a convincing 49-0 win over Springfield Central in Massachusetts. THIS WEEK:Will enjoy the week off after five straight wins.
2. Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons (4A, 4-0).Stayed unbeaten on the road for the second straight week, beating Fort Lauderdale Calvary Christian, 31-21. THIS WEEK: A huge showdown with No. 11 Plantation American Heritage on Friday at home.
3. Venice (8A, 4-0).Scored 40 plus for the third time in four games, beating Palmetto, 42-10 to remain unbeaten. THIS WEEK: A Friday night road game at Bradenton Lakewood Ranch on Friday.
4. Tampa Jesuit (6A, 5-0).Remained unbeaten with a convincing road game at Plant City, 35-13. THIS WEEK: After an amazing start, the Tigers will enjoy this week off.
5. Sanford Seminole (8A, 5-0).For the second straight week on the road, the Seminole were impressive, beating Daytona Beach Mainland, 27-13. THIS WEEK: A huge home game on Friday against No. 8 Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna.
6. Miami Central (5A, 2-2).Lightning and poor weather postponed a district matchup with North Miami Beach. The game will be made up on Oct. 23. THIS WEEK: The annual showdown at Traz Powell Stadium with No. 19 Miami Northwestern on Friday.
7. Fort Lauderdale St. Thomas Aquinas (7A, 4-1).The Raiders started off fast against 8A Davie Western and held on for a 31-21 victory. THIS WEEK: A home district game against Cooper City on Friday.
8. Hollywood Chaminade-Madonna (3A, 3-1).The much-anticipated matchup with two-time defending 2A state champion Champagnat Catholic was called off due to Covid. THIS WEEK: On the road against 8A power and No. 5 Sanford Seminole.
9. Jacksonville Trinity Christian (2A, 5-0). In beating talented Lake City Columbia, 26-13, on the road, the Conquerors remained unbeaten. THIS WEEK:A huge road game on Friday at 4A power and No. 14 Jacksonville Bolles.
10. Miami Gulliver Prep (4A, 4-0).Flexing some muscle against 2A Dade Christian, the Raiders rolled at home, 43-0. THIS WEEK: Another home game on Friday against two-time defending 2A state champion Hialeah Champagnat Catholic.
11. Plantation American Heritage (5A, 1-2).It’s been three weeks since the Patriots have played football, and they are indeed anxious. THIS WEEK: A huge road game this Friday against No. 2 Fort Lauderdale Cardinal Gibbons.
12. Niceville (7A, 5-0).The Eagles dominated Tallahassee Godby, 56-27, to remain unbeaten at home. THIS WEEK: A home game against Crestview on Friday night.
13. Naples (6A, 4-0).This is a team to really watch – as they hammered Palmetto Ridge 48-0 for their third consecutive shutout. They have outscored the opposition, 177-7. THIS WEEK: A key away game against Naples Barron Collier on Friday.
14. Jacksonville Bolles (4A, 5-0). The Bulldogs rolled to another win – against Jacksonville University Christian, 31-0. THIS WEEK:A huge home game with unbeaten and No. 9 Jacksonville Trinity Christian on Friday.
15. Orlando Edgewater (7A, 4-1).The Eagles are flying high once again after a huge road win against No. 25 Apopka, 16-7. THIS WEEK: A Friday home game against Winter Haven.
16. Lake Mary (8A, 4-0).In moving to 4-0, the Rams rolled to a 38-3 win over Orlando Dr. Phillips, 38-3. THIS WEEK: A district home game against DeLand on Friday.
17. Tampa Bay Tech (7A, 4-0).THIS WEEK: The Titans remained unbeaten with a 28-14 win against Tampa Gaither. THIS WEEK: A huge district home game against Seffner Armwood on Friday.
18. Fort Lauderdale Dillard (7A, 4-0). In winning for the 23rd time in 24 games – 11thstraight win – the Panthers crushed South Plantation in a district game, 66-0, giving them four shutouts in five games. THIS WEEK: A Friday district game at Nova.
19. Miami Northwestern (6A, 4-1).The Bulls are starting to put things together, beating Miami Jackson, 56-0, in the Soul Bowl. THIS WEEK: A major Friday showdown with No. 6 Miami Central at Traz Powell Stadium.
20. Cocoa (4A, 3-1).The Tigers won a thrilling 56-55 over No. 23 Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast, giving them three one-point victories and a one-point loss. THIS WEEK: This is a scheduled week off.
21. Lakeland (7A, 4-1).The Dreadnaughts bounced back from their loss to unranked Lake Gibson with a 63-20 win over Winter Haven. THIS WEEK: After a five-game stretch, this will be an off week.
22. St. Petersburg Lakewood (4A, 5-0).Won for the fifth straight time – at home against Lakeland Kathleen, 34-20. THIS WEEK:An away game this Friday, Oct. 1 against Largo.
23. Port St. Lucie Treasure Coast (8A, 3-1).After leading much of the way, the Titans dropped a 56-55 heart-breaker to No. 20 Cocoa. THIS WEEK: A home game on Friday against Fort Pierce Central.
24. Apopka (8A, 3-1).Lost for the first time this season at home in a thriller against No. 15 Orlando Edgewater. THIS WEEK:A home district game on Friday against Orlando Evans.
25. Lynn Haven Mosley (7A, 5-0).In scoring 40 points for the 5thconsecutive game, the Dolphins traveled to Alabama and crushed Mobile Christian, 49-0. They have outscored the five opponents, 217-28. THIS WEEK: Another away game at surprising (4-1) Fort Walton Beach Choctawhatchee on Friday night.
(tie) Miami Killian (5A, 5-0). One of the most underrated teams in the state of Florida – by everyone. Even with powers Miami Central and Plantation American Heritage in the same region, this is stacked program with several high-level prospects – as they showed by putting away Miami Carol City, 40-25. THIS WEEK: Miami Booker T. Washington at home on Friday.
