Week four of football started off with a bang. One of the best teams in the nation Katy High School (4-0) played against Woodlands High School (2-2) on Thursday September 16th, 2021. Both teams were equal majority of the game with the score being at a standstill for a while. However, Katy pulled ahead at the end with a score of 21-14. Although, Woodlands High School lost they still had an impressive offensive lineup.

Woodlands High School had a solid offense that focused more on passing the ball than running it. This is made possible by their great quarterback #11 [player_tooltip player_id="146594" first="Mabrey" last="Mettauer"]. Mabrey had textbook form and technique, but not only that he could be quick and decisive under pressure. Mabrey had dependable protection from his offensive line, but Katy’s defense made it through once in awhile and that’s where I saw Mabrey shine best. Mabrey knew how to avoid tackles and scramble well and if it was needed he wasn’t afraid to run the ball. Mabrey is only a sophomore but he can steadily improve week by week which will be exciting to watch. Mabrey already has offers to Georgia Institute of Technology, University of Louisiana Monroe, Kansas State, LSU, Texas Tech, and University of Florida. By the end of the night Mabrey rushed the ball in for a touchdown and threw for a 21 yard touchdown pass.

#6 Ben Ferguson WR, LS Sr 6’0 180 lbs

Mabrey had a lot of options to throw to in terms of wide receivers. However his main target was to #6 Ben Ferguson. Ben was a reliable target throughout the whole game. Ben Ferguson always was in a good spot to catch the ball. Ben is a great wide receiver he had adequate speed and commendable catching skills. Ben had a lot of college offers to University of Mount Union, Saint Anselm College, Howard Payne University and Trinity University.

#1 [player_tooltip player_id="131370" first="Jobarre" last="Reed"] Sr 5’7 175 lbs

Woodlands offense had a rough go at it by playing against The Katy Tigers. Katy had a solid defense especially in their defensive line, but Woodlands running back [player_tooltip player_id="131370" first="Jobarre" last="Reed"] played pretty well against them. Jobarre was a fast running back and whenever he ran the ball averaged a fair share of yards. Jobarre for the size he was persistent being difficult to bring down.

#17 Camden Cash SB, WR Sr 5’9 165 lbs

Camden Cash had a strong standout performance against The Katy Tigers. Camden is a wide receiver I don’t think Camden was the fastest, but he definitely knew how to get open for passes. Camden was a consistent player and dependable when you needed him. If Camden can get quicker in speed he will become a much bigger threat. Camden has a couple of college offers from Georgia Storm Prep Academy and Diane University.

#19 Jason Williams WR Jr

Jason William did not stand out as much as the other wide receivers but Jason had a lot of speed. I was impressed by how fast Jason was he usually get pass his defender and got open. However, Jason was not thrown the ball as much as his senior upperclassmen. I’m curious to see more of Jason next year as a senior he’ll definitely get more of a chance to show out as the main wide receiver.
