In a limited schedule in Week 2, teams from Spartanburg and Union counties had no shortage of outstanding performances. Here’s a look at five players from the area deserving of Prep Redzone game balls.
Chapman’s [player_tooltip player_id="153248" first="Drew" last="Settle"] played just three quarters, but still put up some big numbers against Boiling Springs. Settle threw for 371 yards on 25-of-37 passing, racking up five touchdowns in the Panthers’ 41-17 victory over Boiling Springs.
[player_tooltip player_id="89339" first="Raheim" last="Jeter"] made a full return from injury with a huge showing, throwing for 305 yards and tossing four touchdowns in Spartanburg's 45-37 win over Hillcrest.
As Union County played its first game of the season, <strong>JaBryson Hunter</strong> had a hand in three of the Yellow Jackets' four touchdowns in a 44-28 loss to Laurens. Hunter threw a 43-yard score to <strong>Kevon Hughes</strong>, a 42-yard pass to <strong>Javarious Stewart</strong>, and returned a fumble 25 yards for another score.
<strong>Brad Caldwell</strong> had a monster game for Oakbrook Prep despite the Knights' loss to New Hope. Caldwell had 15 carries for 132 yards, three receptions for 71 yards and a touchdown, two kick returns totaling 77 yards, and a 90-yard fumble return for a score to go with 17 tackles and 3 tackles for loss on defense.
<strong>Collin Imhoff</strong> is turning into a go-to receiver for Byrnes. Imhoff snagged 7 catches for 167 yards and a touchdown in the Rebels' loss to 5A No. 1 Dutch Fork.
