Get 25% off your subscription by entering Knight25 in the coupon code area. Enjoy! Every Wednesday, we’ll take a look at some of the top available prospects in Oklahoma’s 2022 class. We’re still months away from the first signing day, but these prospects are still available and should be priorities for college coaches who recruit the state of Oklahoma. Be sure to check back every Wednesday for a new batch of uncommitted prospects and see who some of the best available are in the 2022 class! [player_tooltip player_id="135491" first="Davis" last="Dotson"] - Offensive Lineman - Berryhill Berryhill’s [player_tooltip player_id="135491" first="Davis" last="Dotson"] is one of our favorite offensive lineman to watch on film. At 6’6 and 280 pounds and athletic to go with the size, Dotson is an absolute nightmare for opposing defensive ends. Just about every defensive lineman that goes up against Dotson is losing the battle in the size department and then the Berryhill senior just absolutely flattens any defender that he can get his hands on. We also featured Dotson earlier this year as one of our two-sport standouts from Prep Hoops and Prep Redzone. Because on the basketball court, Dotson can get after it and isn’t just a football player out there playing basketball. He has legitimate skills and can move around. However, his future is without a doubt the brightest on the gridiron and he uses those skills to be one of the better tackle prospects in this senior class. Because it’s one thing to be 6’6 and 280 pounds. But adding in the fact that he has quick feet, an unbelievable punch with his hands and can move around incredibly well makes Dotson a prospect that is rising quickly in our opinion in terms of the 2022 class. As of right now, Dotson is currently ranked as the 49th overall prospect in the 2022 class and that ranking will be higher when we have our next update in October.
[player_tooltip player_id="61131" first="Duncan" last="Parham"] - Linebacker - Norman North Norman North is off to a great start to their 2021 season at 3-0 on the year. The offense has been lights out led by senior quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="108886" first="Gavin" last="Frakes"]. But he’s already committed to Princeton and this is the Uncommitted Spotlight. So we turn it over to the defensive side of the ball and look at senior linebacker [player_tooltip player_id="61131" first="Duncan" last="Parham"]. The senior backer has also been recruited by several Ivy League schools and several D1 programs as well. Parham is an aggressive linebacker at the point of attack and can fly all over the field. We were really impressed with his abilities last year as a junior, he had a strong offseason, improving his abilities as a pass defender. And now early on into his senior year, Parham appears to be one of the better senior linebackers in the state. When it comes to the linebacker position in the state’s 2022 class, Parham currently ranks as the third best behind OSU commit [player_tooltip player_id="38676" first="Gabe" last="M Brown"] and Kansas State commit Jake Cliffton. And the linebacker position is incredibly deep in Oklahoma’s 2022 class as right now, we have 16 linebackers in our Top 100 and it could be much more when the rankings are updated in October. As Norman North continues to have success, more eyes should gravitate to the standout senior linebacker.
[player_tooltip player_id="38687" first="Gage" last="Hamm"] - Quarterback - Coweta Coweta quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="38687" first="Gage" last="Hamm"] is having a fantastic start to his senior year and the Tigers are succeeding because of it. Led by Hamm and several playmakers on this Tiger team, Coweta is 3-0 for the first time in a long time and one of the top ranked teams in Class 5A. Hamm is looking like a true dual-threat quarterback in this Coweta offense that is incredibly balanced within the passing and running game. Hamm has put up some good numbers over the last two games in the passing department but the biggest number is the goose egg in the interception column. Hamm is taking care of the football and not turning it over. He also adds an element in the running game and has been very successful with doing that over the last few weeks as well. Coweta is in a very tough district against some of the top teams in Class 5A and Hamm will be participating in some of the bigger games throughout district play and will have more opportunities to showcase his talents. It’s been obvious that Hamm has had the physical tools for a few years now but now that he’s starting to put it all together, taking care of the football, the sky is the limit for this Coweta standout in a senior class that is very loaded at the QB spot. But Hamm is right there in the middle of the conversation.
[player_tooltip player_id="38668" first="Gentry" last="Williams"] - Defensive Back - Booker T Washington Booker T Washington’s [player_tooltip player_id="38668" first="Gentry" last="Williams"] is the top overall prospect in the state’s senior class and he’s been considered one of the best prospects in this class since his freshman year. Williams is also uncommitted and appears to be close to making a decision on where he’ll be playing his college ball after being recruited by programs all over the country. Williams is the elite of the elite when it comes to the 2022 class and it’s been fantastic to see him back on the football field this fall. After missing nearly all of his junior year in 2020 with a knee injury, Williams is back and better than ever. We were in the house when he made his return to the field against Southmoore and we wanted to see how he would respond to live contact on his surgically repaired knee. Once he got that first hit and had to get back up, it was like the switch went off and Williams was officially back. He plays offense and defense for the Hornets but he’s at his best on the defensive side of the ball as a shutdown corner. In fact, the Booker T Washington secondary as a whole is outstanding and every member could end up playing D1 football. Williams is the best of the bunch and he’s getting close to a decision as the state’s top available prospect.
[player_tooltip player_id="64382" first="Oscar" last="Hammond"] - Wide Receiver - Collinsville One of the more underrated wide receivers in the state’s 2022 class has to be Collinsville wideout [player_tooltip player_id="64382" first="Oscar" last="Hammond"]. The Cardinals are definitely a run-first offense and because of that, Hammond won’t have some of the stats that the other wide receivers end with this year but if you’ve seen him in person, you see a good-looking athlete with a very high ceiling. Hammond and the Cardinals are 3-0 and one of the top teams in 5A football. He’s caught at least one touchdown in each of their first three games. When the Cardinals do throw the ball, more times than not, it’s going to Hammond as the big play receiver. We talked with Collinsville’s coaches during the season last year and they had high praise for Hammond after he grew five to six inches before his junior season and became a big target at 6’3. Last year, Hammond was their top receiver, safety on defense and would also return kicks and punts. While quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="51256" first="Andrew" last="Carney"] put up monster numbers in the passing and rushing department last year, it was Hammond that could be their best college prospect. As for his recruitment, it’s definitely been a wait and see approach but he should be on the radars of college coaches who recruit Oklahoma and want a playmaker at the wideout position.
