We’re through week three now in Georgia and it’s been a terrific start to the season for talented QBs across the state. There are lots of dynamic, big-play gunslingers and many of them had their best game of the early season this past weekend.
Here are some of the top QB performances from week three...
[player_tooltip player_id="33915" first="Tyler" last="Hughes"] - Marietta
If there’s one 2022 QB on the rise right now, it’s the big-armed QB out of Marietta, it’s been a great first two weeks of the season for Hughes who has performed well against two talented defenses in Colquitt County and rival McEachern. After a tough opening-season loss to the Packers, Hughes led the Blue Devils to an important win over the Indians this past weekend. Hughes had arguably the best game of his career in last weeks victory, going 26/35 for 350 yards and 5 touchdowns. He was accurate all night and has no problem showing off his arm and slinging the ball downfield. Through two games, Hughes has thrown for over 650 yards and 8 touchdowns.

Maybe the most dynamic QB in the state, the Ware County product has been unstoppable this year and is coming off his best game so far this past weekend in a 41-20 win over Baldwin. Known more as a runner, Castellanos was very productive as a passer, going 17/28 for 232 yards and throwing four touchdown passes. Castellanos threw TD passes of 23 yards, 34 yards, 22 yards and 16 yards. He was poised in the pocket and really threw with some zip. He was precise and accurate when throwing on the run, and of course made plays with his legs, rushing for 50 yards and another touchdowns, giving him five total for the night.

MJ Morris - Carrollton
Arguably the top QB in West Georgia, the Carrollton star showed why he’s one of the top dual-threat QBs across the South for the 2022 class. An experienced, veteran QB, Morris dissected the Jonesboro defense as he went 17/20 for 339 yards and 4 touchdowns. He was accurate when throwing deep down the field and executed the game-plan to perfection. He’s able to make a big play out of nothing and always found a receiver open on Friday night. He also showed off his legs, rushing for 20 yards and another touchdowns, giving him five for the night. More importantly, he’s led the Trojans to a 3-0 record and has them in a prime position to have an excellent regular season.
[player_tooltip player_id="33930" first="David" last="Dallas"] - Trinity Christian
An absolute gunslinger, Dallas is a guy who makes throws that most guys just can’t. He’s a true playmaker in every sense of the world and is off to an excellent start in his senior year. Last weekend, Dallas led Trinity Christian to a big 56-20 win over Fellowship Christian. Dallas was 16/20 for 295 yards and three touchdowns. He found his twin brother Josh Dallas for two of those scores and looked great doing it. He’s another guy who can launch the ball downfield. His arm talent is clear to see and he’s playing at an extremely high level. Trinity Christian is one of the top contenders in Single-A private and Dallas has them meeting those expectations early on. Through his first three games, Dallas is 46/55 for 773 yards and 12 touchdowns.
