We are approaching midseason fast! Here are names (one-two from each I-A team) of prospects whose stocks are rising in PA, ranked or unranked!
<p style="text-align: center;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><em><strong>Germantown Academy</strong></em></span></p>
<strong>Jack Brookman</strong> | 6’2, 255 | OL/DL | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
<strong>Sean Spinosa</strong> | 6’0, 270 | OL/DL | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked </strong></span>
We begin with two men in the trenches out of Germantown Academy, both unranked prospects and new to the site. Jack Brookman is receiving D3 interest, I think his ceiling could be a little higher than that. He’s a big, punishing guard who finishes all his blocks. He can fire off the ball when run-blocking and wants to win with power. I expect this kid to make a debut on our senior rankings after the season. On the other side of the ball, we’ve got another massive prospect who shoots gaps really well. This year, you can see his instincts showing at DT, where he is at times beating OL to the gap. A bunch of TFL’s for this kid. He’s a prospect I will be monitoring. Both of these prospects can play either side of the ball if need be.
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Malvern Prep</strong></span></em></p>
<strong>Yaahdir Nash </strong>| 5’9, 170 | RB/DB | 2023
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
<strong>Colin McHugh </strong>| 6’0, 200 | DL/LB | 2023
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
Next up, we have two junior prospects who are flashing greatness on the loaded Malvern Prep squad. I spoke highly of Colin McHugh after seeing him live and absolutely wrecking Archbishop Wood. He’s been rising up my personal boards because of the hand he has had in making the Prep defense dominant. A new name that wasn’t mentioned was Yaahdir Nash. We know about Stocker and Wright, but this kid is just as talented and is in line to have a breakout season next year as more reps will open up. Track speed, straight-line gas. Excels in the slot as well. Incredible lateral displacement on his cuts, I’m a fan of this kid.
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Episcopal Academy</strong></span></em></p>
[player_tooltip player_id="91475" first="Jake" last="Fant"] | 6’2, 195 | QB | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: 250 </strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="150009" first="Bryce" last="Cooper"] | 5’10, 155 | WR | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: 399 </strong></span>
After speaking on four unranked players, we dive into Episcopal Academy and two ranked players who should see a rise in their respective spots. QB1 [player_tooltip player_id="91475" first="Jake" last="Fant"] has been absolutely dealing this year, and no performance was better than the outing he had against Governor Mifflin, a team that will be in state contention late this fall. The game was out of reach, but that didn’t stop Fant from continuing to deal dimes to his weapons. The tougher the matchup, the more value I put on great performances. [player_tooltip player_id="150009" first="Bryce" last="Cooper"] was a new addition to our senior rankings this summer. The 399 spot is a bit modest and if Cooper continues his production, he will see that ranking rise. He’s secured 6 catches this season for 150 yards and 3 TDs (3 games). I love his skill set.
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>William Penn Charter</strong></span></em></p>
Eddie Guarnaccia III | 5’9, 175 | DB/WR | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="95770" first="Chandler" last="Turner"] |
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: 107</strong></span>
Eddie Guarnaccia III is another new name to the site. Not massive production from the senior DB but he’s flashing some solid tackling for the Quakers. I’m always on the lookout for new names to add to my radar, he’s one. Not much film can be dug up from either of these prospects besides said splash plays from Guarnaccia III. However, I’m hearing our 107th ranked senior has been impressive and may crack our top-100 if he continues to show out. Can’t wait for the film to drop.
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>Springside - Chestnut Hill Academy</strong></span></em></p>
Ivan Thorpe Jr. | 5’9, 170 | ATH | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
Tommy Shelinsky | 5’11, 180 | DB/WR | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
Many SCH players are catching my eye, none more than Ivan Thorpe Jr. He reminds me a ton of a player in this piece, [player_tooltip player_id="150009" first="Bryce" last="Cooper"] at Episcopal. He and Aidan Dooley have been on fire this season. I want Dooley ranked if he continues his production. Dooley keeps it up, it means big numbers for Thorpe Jr. Tommy Shelinsky needs some love too. Here’s the unranked senior’s stat line through four games.
13 catches, 266 yards, 4 TD’s
3 INT’s, 13 tackles (3TFL), 3 PBU’s.
All-around player.
<p style="text-align: center;"><em><span style="text-decoration: underline;"><strong>The Haverford School</strong></span></em></p>
[player_tooltip player_id="98520" first="Sean" last="Dugery"] | 6’4, 285 | OL/DL | 2023
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: 28</strong></span>
Sam Gerber | 5’10, 175 | WR/DB | 2022
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Current Ranking: Unranked</strong></span>
[player_tooltip player_id="98520" first="Sean" last="Dugery"] is the highest-ranking prospect in this piece. A top-30 prospect, he’s been nothing short of special in three games. The stud interior lineman has been dominant in the run game, as well as in pass protection. I wouldn’t be surprised if The Haverford School doesn’t run behind this kid every damn play. Let’s see how far he can climb. As for Sam Gerber, the senior is a name I found on Twitter whose Hudl tapes impressed me. He netted 310 all-purpose yards in his first two games, with his 3rd game of the year not being released yet. He and the rest of these prospects will continue to be on my radar for the rest of the season.
