The St. John’s Cadets put on an absolutely dominant performance on Saturday against Life Christian Academy, winning handily 31-0. Both the offense and the defense looked spectacular for St. John’s, and they certainly look like one of the elite teams in the nation right now. They’re without a doubt the powerhouse in Washington, D.C. at the moment, and next week they look to make their record a perfect 5-0 against Archbishop Wood. Let’s take a look at some of the star performers for St. John’s from Saturday’s blowout victory.
St. John’s Cadets
Offense:
2022 6’1 190 QB – [player_tooltip player_id="134896" first="Wyatt" last="Hagan"]
[player_tooltip player_id="134896" first="Wyatt" last="Hagan"] and the Cadets’ offense did not take their foot off of the gas for this game. They started off the contest with an early 80 yard touchdown connection from Hagan to [player_tooltip player_id="136028" first="DJ" last="Linkins"], and from that point forward it was all St. John’s the rest of the way. [player_tooltip player_id="134896" first="Wyatt" last="Hagan"] continues to be incredibly consistent and intelligent with the football, and his leadership, as always, maintains a winning attitude for this football team. [player_tooltip player_id="134896" first="Wyatt" last="Hagan"] and St. John’s face Archbishop Wood next week to stay perfect.

2022 6’4 195 WR – [player_tooltip player_id="136028" first="DJ" last="Linkins"]
[player_tooltip player_id="136028" first="DJ" last="Linkins"] is off to a scorching hot start to the season and he doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. His ability to break free and get behind the defense on deep ball passes is second to none, and, to me, he’s established himself as the best wide receiver in all of D.C.. Once Linkins and Hagan connected on that 80 yard play it truly felt like the game was over, and that’s due to the deflating nature of allowing such an over the top play like that in a game. For the remainder of the season, expect nothing less than greatness from [player_tooltip player_id="136028" first="DJ" last="Linkins"] as he establishes himself as an elite D1 wide receiver prospect.

Defense:
2022 5’11 175 DB – Shomari Stone II
The St. John’s defense posted an impressive shutout on Saturday and Shomari Stone II was a huge contributor to that victorious effort. The Life Christian Academy ball catchers really never stood a chance all day, and the reason was because they were constantly being smothered by the Cadets’ defensive backs. Shomari Stone showcased his incredible closing speed and tackling ability as well which made it even more difficult for LCA to find a rhythm. Stone is a major player within this St. John’s secondary and he will look to continue his dominant play against Archbishop Wood.
2023 5’11 215 LB – [player_tooltip player_id="146638" first="Rohan" last="Davy"]
On defense, there’s no substitute for pressure, and that’s exactly what [player_tooltip player_id="146638" first="Rohan" last="Davy"] applies on opposing offenses during every single play. Davy makes it extremely difficult for opposing quarterbacks, specifically, because he eliminates any time they have to throw the football. This then leads to turnovers and three and outs which is exactly what we saw on Saturday. Even as St. Johns’ opponents’ overall level of play increases, watch out for [player_tooltip player_id="146638" first="Rohan" last="Davy"] to continue to impose his will and establish himself as one of the best linebackers in the entire DMV area.
