Another matchup loaded with premier talent, numerous athletes showcased what they could do in a big time game. Here’s a look at some of the offensive standouts from Friday night:
Brayten Silbor Brayten Silbor 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , QB, Chaparral ’22
Silbor had a huge night and dug deep to lead Chaparral to a 27-26 comeback win after trailing 20-7 at halftime. He finished with 238 yards and 2 TD’s through the air. He did a great job with his timing as he was frequently able to hit receivers in stride with velocity to take advantage of the soft spots in coverage. On Chap’s first drive, he hit his TE on a seam for about a 44 yard TD with superb timing, velocity, and placement. His second TD came on a post where again he hit the throw with solid timing and velocity. Big night for Silbor and a huge W for Chap’s program.
Jojo Clark Jojo Clark 5'11" | 195 lbs | ATH Saguaro | 2024 State AZ , ATH, Saguaro ’24
Clark is a young prospect that excels on both sides of the ball. He was able to score the first TD of the game on about a 13 yard skinny post in the back of the endzone. Clark possesses strong ball skills and body control as he showed the ability to adjust in air to haul in catches at awkward angles. Good field awareness along the boundary to tap a foot in bounds on that TD, and is an impressive two-way young prospect.
Grady Hickey, ATH, Chaparral ’22
Hickey is a new name to know here around AZ, as he continues to step up and impress. He hauled in a deep fade to set up a Chaparral score, and also ended up having the game winning TD on an 89 yard rush. He possesses excellent burst and hits top speed quickly as both a ball carrier and route runner. He’s explosive out of his cuts and shows good COD and twitch in space to make opponents miss. A very dynamic athlete with the ability to change the game as a RB or WR.
Lukas Garvey Lukas Garvey 6'4" | 225 lbs | TE Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , TE, Chaparral ’22
Garvey had a big night as he was able to catch a seam for around 44 yards for a TD, and had numerous catches on the night where he got a chance to flash his skillset. He sizes up with a tremendous frame, build, and length at 6’4″ 230lbs and moves very well within his frame. Good route runner from the slot and is willing to run across the middle and embrace hits if he needs to. Definitely a 2022 to get on your radar and keep tabs on as we move forward.
Jaci Dickerson Jaci Dickerson 5'11" | 160 lbs | ATH Saguaro | 2024 State AZ , WR/DB, Saguaro ’24
Another young prospect for Saguaro who looked impressive. Dickerson scored on a 3 yard jet pass to make it a 26-27 game. Dickerson possesses good burst and twitch with loose hips to get in and out of his breaks/routes well. He sets up his routes well and tracks the ball well in the air. He showed the ability to lay out and make athletic grabs, and holds a very high ceiling going forward.
