Thomas DeChesaro Thomas DeChesaro 5'10" | 185 lbs | DB Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , DB, Saguaro ’22
DeChasaro is a very underrated prospect and a kid who continues to have big games and make clutch plays. He showed the ability to bait QB’s into throws as he was able to pick off a Silbor pass and take it 82 yards to the house. He showed solid instincts and play rec and possesses good closing speed all around. Effective tackler as he shows strength at the POA or the ability to make tackles in the open field. He’s listed at 5’10″ 180lbs and possesses a high motor and very good football IQ with loads of potential.
Davondre Bucannon, DB, Chaparral ’22
Bucannon made the play of the night as he hawked down a breakaway Saguaro ball carrier to not only save a TD, but punch the ball loose from behind and force a turnover, which completely shifted momentum. He’s a lengthy CB at 6’2″ 180lbs and has been checking all the boxes for the next level. Good reach to keep receivers within arms length and is physical at the LOS and through the route without drawing those PI calls. Excellent recovery speed and technique to punch through the ball, and is a big time player on that Chaparral defense.
Myller Terameau Myller Terameau 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , DB, Saguaro ’22
Terameau had some plays Friday night that definitely deserve some recognition. He had a big PBU on a fade force 4th down, a clutch tackle on 3rd down to force a Chaparral punt, and numerous other potential big play saving tackles at CB. He’s a lean 5’10″ 170lbs with impressive all around athleticism. Good burst to break on the ball with solid speed, good route recognition, effective tackler, and is a very underrated prospect. Excited to see how Terameau produces throughout the remainder of the season.
Jacob Franze Jacob Franze 5'9" | 165 lbs | DB Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , SS, Chaparral ’22
Franze was a contributor on numerous plays, but his most clutch play was when he blocked a Saguaro XP, which ended up playing a major factor in the 27-26 win. He’s a smart and sound football player with a solid football IQ, and consistently takes good pursuit tracks toward ball carriers to put himself in position to make plays. He flashes some strength at the POC and is an effective tackler and a sleeper player on that Chap defense.
CJ Eastwood CJ Eastwood 5'9" | 185 lbs | LB Chaparral | 2022 State AZ , LB, Chaparral ’22
There’s no defensive stats uploaded for either team yet, but Eastwood had to have had approached double digit tackles from what I saw. He frequently flies to the ball and flashes strength at the POA. Stout frame and build at 5’10″ 195lbs and he possesses excellent functional strength. He’s a situational player that can do a lot of good things in clutch moments on both sides of the ball.
