It was another busy week of high school football in the state of Arkansas. This week the running backs took center stage, and you will see plenty of running backs on the Prime-Time players list this week. The performances this week were extremely impressive as conference play got going in the state of Arkansas.
[player_tooltip player_id="131175" first="Darryl" last="Kattich"]-Running Back-Cedarville-2022
Kattich is a running back that is extremely consistent and has a second gear when he gets into the open field. On Friday, the Cedarville running back rushed 27 times for 206 yards and four touchdowns. Kattich just continues to raise the bar every week and scouts should take notice, because all he does is rack up the rushing yards.
[player_tooltip player_id="75143" first="Josh" last="Ficklin"]-Running Back-Bentonville-2023
Prep RedZone Arkansas was in attendance to watch Ficklin punch the ball in the endzone five times in the conference opener against Springdale Har-Ber. Ficklin racked up 270 yards off of 37 carries and earned five touchdowns. Ficklin has that mix of speed and power and will force the defense to bring multiple defenders to bring him down. Ficklin is just getting started he has the opportunity to be a special player before his high school career ends.
[player_tooltip player_id="75081" first="Austin" last="Myers"]-Quarterback-Vilonia-2022
The Vilonia quarterback does something that is tough to do and that is make the quarterback position look easy to play. Myers’ accuracy was on full display against Clarksville on Friday night. He went 15/17 for 229 yards and four touchdowns. He is dangerous when he gets outside of the pocket and throwing on the run. Myers continue his impressive play as conference play opened up and he has an opportunity to have an excellent season.
Da’Shawn Chairs-Running Back-Elkins-2024
My advice to scouts and coaches is to take note of Chairs now. The young man exploded last night against Gravette. Chairs rushed 25 times for 299 yards and five touchdowns. Chairs is an explosive running back that is dangerous between the tackles but can be deadly when he cuts it to the outside. Chairs is just getting started and he is going to be a fun running back to scout over the next few years.
[player_tooltip player_id="75139" first="Floyd" last="Williams"]-Defensive Back-Gosnell-2023
Williams is one of the best athletes in the state of Arkansas on the football field. Last night he showed what her could do multiple times on the field. Williams had five total touchdowns and, in the process, reminded everyone how dangerous he is on the field. Keep an eye on Williams the rest of the season, he is just getting warmed up.
[player_tooltip player_id="181497" first="Preston" last="Davis"]-Linebacker-Little Rock Christian-2024
Davis has been playing lights out over the past few weeks and he is going to be a player to watch over the next few seasons. Davis put in another impressive performance on Friday night. Davis had 13 tackles and one pass break up last night. Davis has become a mainstay over the past few weeks on the Prime-Time Players list and scouts would be nice to take notice of him.
[player_tooltip player_id="75070" first="James" last="Jointer"]-Running Back-Little Rock Parkview-2022
The Arkansas Razorback commit had a huge game on Thursday night against the powerhouse Greenwood Bulldogs. Jointer rushed for over 250 yards and five touchdowns on Thursday. Jointer has that speed to hit the second level and can be a nightmare for the opposing defensive coordinator to contain. Look out for Jointer the rest of the season, he is running the ball extremely well.
[player_tooltip player_id="75110" first="Kannon" last="Bartlett"]-Wide Receiver-Vilonia-2022
Bartlett was a busy man on Friday night. Bartlett had four receptions for 109 yards. However, Bartlett was not finished there. Bartlett rushed the ball twice for 32 yards and punched the ball in the endzone one time. Bartlett has a knack for getting open and runs crisp routes. He is a wide receiver to watch as conference play gets going this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="136008" first="Dede" last="Johnson"]-Running Back-Searcy-2023
The Searcy running back had a monster game on Friday night for the Lions. Johnson ran for 305 yards and six touchdowns on Friday night. Johnson is having a fantastic 2021 season and is setting the stage for a big two years of recruiting for himself. He is an explosive running back that can hit a second gear in the open field. Keep an eye on Johnson as conference play heats up this season.
[player_tooltip player_id="75102" first="Hunter" last="Talley"]-Quarterback-Siloam Springs-2022
Siloam Springs quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="75102" first="Hunter" last="Talley"] continues to play at a high level. On Friday, Talley was 20/37 for 353 yards and three touchdowns. However, Talley was not just a threat throwing the football. Talley rushed the ball 18 times for 136 yards and two touchdowns. Talley continues to play at a high level and is doing so by putting up monster numbers.
[player_tooltip player_id="75105" first="Bladen" last="Fike"]-Quarterback-Fayetteville-2022
Fike made good use of his weapons against the Bentonville West Wolverines on Friday night. The Fayetteville quarterback was 12/20 for 195 yards and four touchdowns. The Bulldogs got off to a hot start in conference play with the win over Bentonville West. Fike has been playing impressive football over the past few weeks and it is no surprise to see him on our Prime-Time Players list this week.
[player_tooltip player_id="152083" first="Chris" last="Gannaway"]-Running Back-Bryant-2023
The running backs are taking center stage this week and [player_tooltip player_id="152083" first="Chris" last="Gannaway"] has earned a spot on the list this week. The Bryant running back had a busy night on Friday. Gannaway rushed 23 times for 142 yards against a talented Fort Smith Northside defense. Gannaway is another talented running back that will likely play division one football a little bit down the road. Gannaway is going to be a player to watch over the next few years.
[player_tooltip player_id="136316" first="Cade" last="Forrester"]-Quarterback-Hoxie-2022
The talented Hoxie quarterback is quickly becoming a mainstay on the Prime-Time Players list that Prep RedZone Arkansas puts together to close the weekend out. Forrester had a busy night on Friday. He was 9/13 for 229 yards and four touchdowns. However, he also made great use of his legs. Forrerster rushed 10 times for 136 yards on the ground.
