The matchup between Bentonville and Springdale Har-Ber this week has plenty of implications. Bentonville is off to a 2-1 start this season and is looking to seize momentum right off the bat in conference play. Meanwhile, the Har-Ber Wildcats are looking to bounce back from an 0-3 start to the season. Friday night’s matchup will be a big one for both teams in terms of setting up momentum.
Looking first at the visiting Bentonville Tigers. The offensive side of the ball has plenty of weapons for the Tigers to display. At the quarterback position, the Tigers have one of the most talented signal callers in the state directing the offense. Wright has the opportunity to put a strong and an accurate arm on display this season. The receiving corps for the Tigers is explosive and extremely reliable. [player_tooltip player_id="93523" first="Cooper" last="Smith"] and Charles Nimrod are a nasty one-two combination that can find the end zone from anywhere on the field. Meanwhile, the rushing attack contains a talented duo in [player_tooltip player_id="75143" first="Josh" last="Ficklin"] and [player_tooltip player_id="137290" first="Christopher" last="Collier-Surly"] provide a thunder and lighting ground attack that can punish opposing defensive lines.
On the defensive side of the ball, the Tigers have an aggressive defense that can capitalize off of mistakes quickly. The Bentonville secondary is going to be counted on to help contain a strong Har-Ber passing game. Safety [player_tooltip player_id="160632" first="Jackson" last="Hutchens"] has continued his strong play from last season where all-conference honors last season. The Bentonville defense will have its hands full on Friday night, the Har-Ber offense is very dynamic.
Meanwhile, the Har-Ber Wildcats faced a difficult non-conference slate and are looking to right the ship entering conference play. The Har-Ber offense has proven to be extremely dynamic with [player_tooltip player_id="204437" first="Luke" last="Buchanan"] making good decisions with the football connecting with reliable wide receivers [player_tooltip player_id="134659" first="Peyton" last="McKee"] and Ethan Fender numerous times against Fort Smith Northside last week. The Wildcats also have a very impressive running back in the form of [player_tooltip player_id="91974" first="Hudson" last="Brewer"]. Brewer can run with power or use his impressive speed to cut the run outside. Bottom line is the Bentonville defense will have to come ready to play on Friday night.
The Wildcats on the defensive side of the ball face the same dilemma that the Bentonville defense does. Do you focus on the run or the pass? Much like Bentonville Har-Ber has talent on the defensive side of the ball as well. [player_tooltip player_id="201993" first="Ross" last="Haney"] is a scrapper at the linebacker position and is not afraid to deliver a hit. Defensive [player_tooltip player_id="92901" first="Malachi" last="Cramer"] will be counted on to help attempt to contain an explosive Bentonville passing attack. This is another game that will go into the fourth quarter and should be one of the better matchups in the state on Friday.
