Last Friday night I made my way out to see Paschal vs North Crowley. The biggest name I was looking at watching actually was held out due to an injury in 2022 North Crowley DE, [player_tooltip player_id="121598" first="Aaron" last="Austin"] but there was plenty of other talented prospects to see that stood out on the night. One of the biggest takeaways I came away with on the night was the speed North Crowley has on both sides of the ball, which was really fun to watch.
S’maje Burrell - 2023 LB - Crowley, TX (North Crowley) - 6’2"/215:
Burrell immediately stood out before the game started with his size and athletic looking frame. And from the moment the North Crowley defense hit the field, he immediately made his presence felt coming from across the field in a hurry to lay a big hit on the TE/H-Back on a throwback screen. But his night was only getting started as this dude was everywhere racking up 13-Tackles, 4-TFL, 1-Int, 1-FF, & 1-blocked XP on the night. His sideline-to-sideline & closing speed immediately jumped out at me but he also showed off a well rounded game at this stage. He showed he is a physical, knockback striker with really impressive change of direction and flexibility. Like the lateral quickness he displays and ability to avoid or fend off blocks. Flashed the ability at times to diagnose & trigger quickly but maybe the other more impressive part of his game on the night were just the big plays that he made in multiple facets with the TOs he either forced or created on his own. One of those being an interception he tracked over his shoulder and held onto through a big collision in the air to the ground. Now he is still young so there is still more to learn as you would see him false step which isn’t a big surprise, overrunning plays due to flying so hard to the ball or getting held up on blocks. If he starts to use his hands in a more physical manner with OL, watch out. Either way, think it’s pretty obvious he was the star of the game for me and is a big time Power 5 level prospect.

[player_tooltip player_id="131405" first="Tristan" last="White"] - 2022 WR/RB - Crowley, TX (North Crowley) - 5’10"/175:
Every time White touched the ball on the night, it turned into either a long TD or chunk plays (multiple were called back by penalties). He finished the night with 2-rushes for 80-yards and 1-TD along with a 50-yard TD-reception. The New Mexico WR commit is explosive with impressive acceleration and long speed. Watching him on jet sweeps was fun to watch as he was just flat out playing at a different speed than others on the field. While he is slight in frame, White is a HR threat type weapon that showed his versatility in the pass and run game. Lobo's fans should be excited to get him on campus next year if they can hold on to him but wouldn't be surprised to see bigger offers come.

[player_tooltip player_id="121978" first="Dejuan" last="Lacy"] - 2023 RB - Crowley, TX (North Crowley) - 5’11"/185:
Like I mentioned on Twitter the night of the game, the list of play makers on offense with legit speed that North Crowley has is fun to watch, and Lacy is one of those I was referring too. Like White, he didn't touch the ball a ton but really flashed when he had the ball in his hands finishing the night with 8-Carries, 112-yards and 1-TD run. Lacy showed really quick feet with a nice burst through the hole and long speed. But on top of that he flashed make you miss ability in the open field which his balance through contact, smooth and explosive lateral agility made him difficult to tackle. He already holds a Utah offer but that's only the beginning.

Quinton Jackson - 2022 WR - Crowley, TX (North Crowley) - 5’10"/175:
Playing QB for his squad which isn't where he will play at the next level, Jackson showed he could get the job done with his arm and feet vs Paschal. Finishing the night going 7-12 for 106-yards & 3-TD Passes and 2-Carries for 103-yards and a TD (80), it was when he kept the ball and used his legs that was when you see what he can bring to the table. Jackson is extremely quick which he displayed on a zone-read that he kept making two-defenders miss badly with both left grabbing turf as he raced to the end zone. Like White he is another that is slight of frame but man, with the quickness and make you miss ability he showed, getting him in space at the next level will make him a nightmare to defend. He recently added a Rice offer to add to his FBS list of Air Force, Army, Marshall, Navy & New Mexico.

Chris Gee - 2023 RB - Fort Worth, TX (Paschal) - 5’11"/200:
It was tough sledding for most of the night for Gee vs Burrell and the North Crowley defense, especially up the middle. But when he got his opportunities to tote the rock to the outside is when I really saw impressive flashes of his game. He has a compact type build and when you combine that with the speed he brings along with the physical style he brings, made him difficult to bring down with 1-defender. He is completely under the radar it appears at this point but Gee is a RB that should be getting more attention, no doubt.

Samora Ezekiel - 2022 OG/OT - Fort Worth, TX (Paschal) - 6'4"/285:
Ezekiel was another that stood out physically as he is solidly built and carries his weight really well. Paschal basically ran the ball most of the night so I didn't get to see much of him in pass pro but when it comes to the run game, he definitely flashed some intriguing ability at times. Showed the athleticism and movement to work to the second level. Like the pop in his hands when making contact as a puller and showed he could roll his hips. A powerful OL with solid leg drive and a nastiness burying multiple defenders into the turf on the night.
