OREGON OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
[player_tooltip player_id="28887" first="Jack" last="Layne"] 6-2 190 QB 22’ Lake Oswego- It’s early but as of right now he is definitely in the mix if we are talking conference & state POY honors. Layne had his 3rd game with 4 TD passes this year, going 23 of 27 for 448 yards, while also rushing for another score in the 30-point win over Sheldon.
OREGON DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK
[player_tooltip player_id="143912" first="Drew" last="Bennett"] 6-1 180 DB/ATH 22’ Westview- A lot of credit to Idaho on extending the early offer to Bennett. His 2 INT’s for touchdowns against Jesuit, continued to shine a light on all that he brings to the table defensively.
[player_tooltip player_id="108140" first="Bryce" last="Dyer"] 6-5 205 TE/S 22’ North Medford- One of the most impressive and versatile athletes state wide. The 6-5 multi-sport standout had 2 TDs and 2 INTs, including one interception on the goal line with 30 seconds left to beat a good Liberty team 31-27.
[player_tooltip player_id="110178" first="Jack" last="Wagner"] 6-4 180 QB 23’ Tualatin- One of the fastest rising prospects in Oregon for 2023 continued to impress on offense, hitting on 16 of 19 passes for 247 yards and 1 TD, while rushing for 81 more and another score. Wagner’s overall athleticism has been incredibly impressive on both sides of the football
Daschel Smith 6-1 175 QB & Tini Tinitali III 6-0 180 ATH 23’ South Salem- Both of these kids and the Saxons have a stock that is rising quickly. The Junior Smith passed for 314 yards and 4 Td’s, while rushing for another, in the big-time conference win over Mt View 42-35. Tinitali’s film speaks for itself as he caught two of those scores and looks like one of the top 23’s in Oregon.
[player_tooltip player_id="110180" first="Mark" last="Hamper"] 6-2 200 WR 23’ West Linn- Easily one of the favorites for Oregon 6A POY honors on both sides of the football thus far. He added another 9 receptions and a TD on Offense, to go with his 4th INT of the year on D, in the 24-14 win over traditional WA power Camas.
[player_tooltip player_id="28858" first="Dylan" last="Layne"] 6-2 205 Safety 22’ Lake Oswego- The Lakers are probably the hottest team in the state right now, with Layne dominating on the defensive side of the ball. His 2 INTs highlighted a great performance from LO in the 48-17 win.
[player_tooltip player_id="204602" first="Tyler" last="Copeland"] 6-3 190 QB 22’ McNary- Copeland has the Celts (4-0) after earning all conference honors at WR last season. On the night he passed for 334 Yds and 3 Td’s in the 41-21 win over Bend.
[player_tooltip player_id="28868" first="Kyron" last="Albright"] 6-1 190 ATH 22’ Beaverton- Albright has had one of the most impressive seasons of any athlete in Oregon, doing a little bit of everything. The state's top return man, had an INT for a TD this week, while catching 7 balls for 120 yards in the win.
[player_tooltip player_id="143911" first="Jake" last="Reichle"] 6-3 195 RB/S 22’ Lakeridge- Reichle could be the next athlete in Oregon to receive a D1 offer, rushing for another 3 TD’s in the Pacers 30-7 win down at South Medford. While he projects as a division 1 SS/WLB he has been killin it offensively.
[player_tooltip player_id="108147" first="Kellen" last="Hale"] 6-5 210 LB 22’ Tualatin- We have heard Hale’s name often over the last year, as he currently sits on multiple D1 recruiting boards. He added 5 tackles and a sack on D, with 72 yards receiving
[player_tooltip player_id="28834" first="Aaron" last="Jones"] 5-10 180 ATH 22’ Westview- One of the top overall athletes in the NW made 11 tackles defensively where he has stepped up as of late. The Navy commit can do a variety of things on both sides of the football.
Roseburg Football- Dating back to last year the Indians have now won 5 in a row, after losing 10 straight prior to that. I would consider head coach Dave Heuberger one of the best in the business, turning around a Springfield HS program the same way, before making the move to Roseburg.
[player_tooltip player_id="207256" first="Tyler" last="Konold"] 5-11 185 RB/ATH 24’ Canby- Get used to the name as the Sophomore went off, rushing for over 200 yards and 3 TDs, in the 55-13 win over a severely outmatched St Helens team.
[player_tooltip player_id="28849" first="Jae’Sean" last="Pete"] RB 22’ & Donald Stephens RB 23’ Grant- One of the top RB combo’s in the region showed why on Friday, rushing for 6 Td’s between them, in the 70-7 win over Franklin. Pete carried 8 times for 76 yards and 4 total TD’s with Stephens rushing 7 times for 98 yards and 2 scores.
[player_tooltip player_id="108137" first="Zack" last="Schlottmann"] 6-2 220 HBack/LB 22’ Glencoe- Schlottmann had a big night catching 7 passes for 143 yards and a TD, in the 29-7 win over Reynolds. Give the Raiders D credit keeping all everything back [player_tooltip player_id="28845" first="Royce" last="Fasel"] in check.
Luke McNabb 6-3 190 QB 22’ Scappoose- McNabb is a good looking QB and had one of the better nights of his career, racking up 6 TDs (3 passing, 3 rushing), while throwing for 316 Yards in the 52-41 loss to #2 Wilsonville.
Summit Defense- In the last 3 games the Storm have allowed 13 points, handling an impressive Sprague offense, in the 26-6 win this week.
[player_tooltip player_id="205816" first="Hunter" last="Borter"] 6-4 200 QB 23’ Beaverton- Borter has size and has put himself on the map over the last few weeks. He accounted for another 6 TDs, three to talented slot WR [player_tooltip player_id="204550" first="Cristian" last="Gonzalez"], in the 56-28 pasting over crosstown rival Southridge.
[player_tooltip player_id="108142" first="Austin" last="Ratliff"] 6-3 195 LB/WR 22’ Silverton- I’ve always liked Ratliff on the defensive side of the ball, but he showed up to play on O Friday. His 4 receptions for 115 yards and 2 TDs stood out, helping to beat a good Dallas team 42-7.
[player_tooltip player_id="28841" first="Dondrae" last="Fair"] QB/DB 22’ & [player_tooltip player_id="206766" first="Jeray" last="Mott"] ATH 23’ Jefferson- Most are aware of the 3* Fair. He had a nice night on both sides of the football, with him and Mott totaling 4 INT’s (2 a piece), while accounting for 3 TDs (2 passing , 1 rushing) in the 34-14 win over Lincoln.
[player_tooltip player_id="207259" first="Kyrin" last="Fuimaono"] 6-0 200 QB 23’ McKay- Kyrin played varsity ball as a freshman and he showed why this week, passing for 270 yards and 4 TDs, in the 31-28 win over Forest Grove. Talented Sr. teammate [player_tooltip player_id="204553" first="Chansse" last="Lee"] caught 3 of those touchdowns, racking up 150 yards receiving.
Zach Frazier 6-0 215 RB/LB 23’ La Salle- The Falcons lost a ton of athletes from last year and could potentially not win a game this season, but Frazier can play. On the evening he accounted for 150+ yards and 4 TD’s in the 76-44 loss to The Dalles.
