Below, we will break down some of the top performances that took place across Northern California during week 5 of the season. As we move past the midway point this Fall, new stars are beginning to emerge and it is clear there are some very under-recruited offensive players across the region.

[player_tooltip player_id="141999" first="Kenny" last="Lueth"], Rocklin HS
Lueth is one of the many hidden gems across Northern California and is having a very good season for the Thunder, which is no surprise. Having ideal size and poise for the position, he is a very under-rated runner outside the pocket and has a big time arm downfield. On tape, he shows good pocket presence and field awareness while showing good ball placement on in-breaking and outbreaking routes while putting nice touch on swing passes and impressive velocity downfield. Also showing the ability to throw his receivers open, he possesses a quick release while also able to throw across his body and while on the run outside the pocket and when stepping up.
Matt Macleod, Menlo Atherton HS
Macleod is another top uncommitted Northern California quarterback and is extremely athletic for the position and could help any team at the college level. Doing a good job at keeping his eyes downfield and moving defenders, he shows impressive abilities to also run outside the pocket when needed and the ball seems to jump out of his hand. He is extremely accurate in the short and intermediate game while possessing a high football IQ and rarely makes mistakes.
Cole Owens, Casa Roble HS
Owens is one of the top pass catchers in the entire San Joaquin Section and has exploded for a huge first half of the season. Playing for a high flying offense, he is very explosive after the catch and consistently breaks arm/ankle tackles while using strong contact balance and lower body strength to gain positive yards. Sinking his hips at the top of his routes and possessing strong hands in traffic over the top, he is a big time playmaker that can play both inside and outside with sure fire next level talent.
