New Jersey Class of 2023 Running Backs: Stock Risers

Prep Redzone looks at the Class of 2023 running backs in New Jersey whose stock has risen so far this season. These players have done enough so far to get our attention. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="181938" first="Aly" last="Marzouk"] | Seacaucus</strong> Marzouk played his first two games of the season within the last two weeks. In those games, he has carried the football 35 times for 356 yards and five touchdowns. Marzouk has also caught nine passes for 144 yards and one touchdown. That's more than enough to get him on our radar. Marzouk has plenty of speed and is hard to catch once he gets to the perimeter. We look forward to seeing his mid-season highlights when/if they become available. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="183659" first="Brayden" last="Nolan"] | Newton | 5-8 | 180</strong> Nolan has started off strong in his first four games this season. He's rushed 40 times for 435 yards and four touchdowns and has caught five passes for 110 yards and four touchdowns. Nolan also plays linebacker on defense. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207927" first="Eddie" last="Bupp"] | Overbrook | 5-8 | 180</strong> Bupp has carried the football 91 times for 685 yards and eight touchdowns in his first five games this season. HIs best effort so far this season game against Princeton in Week 2 where he rushed for 280 yards and three touchdowns. He is averaging 7.5 yards per carry. He has good vision and he also has what I would call football-speed. He's not a burner, but he gets positive yardage on the majority of his carries and is consistent. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207929" first="Isaiah" last="Harrison"] | Ewing </strong> Harrison has rushed for 457 yards and five touchdowns on 56 carries (8.2 yards per carry) in four games this season. He will have to continue to work on his speed and explosiveness. Harrison run's hard and is not easy to bring down. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207928" first="Jaleel" last="Patrick"] | Penns Grove | 6-0 | 170</strong> Patrick has proven himself to be one of the top running backs in his class during his four games. He has rushed for 60 times for 591 yards and six touchdowns and has caught eight passes for 96 yards and two touchdowns. Patrick rushed for 156 yards and one touchdowns in a 48-20 win for Penns Grove over Buena on Sep. 24. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="207930" first="Jameil" last="Chalmers"] | Passaic | 5-10 | 150</strong> Despite his team having a tough season through four games, Chalmers has been productive on offense. He's rushed 58 times for 472 yards (8.1 yards per carry) and three touchdowns in those games. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="181895" first="Shawn" last="Purcell"] | Manville</strong> Purcell has accounted for over 500 yards of total offense in the three games he's played in this season. He's carried the football 22 times for 377 yards and five touchdowns and has caught five passes for 131 yards and two touchdowns.
