There were several standout performances in the St. Louis area on Saturday of Week 5.
Here is a quick look at some of the performances that stood out:
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="96126" first="Reagan" last="Andrew"], 5-9, 185, MICDS, 2022</strong>
Andrew showed off his dual-threat skills with another big game in the Rams’ 35-0 win over visiting rival John Burroughs. He ran eight times for 120 yards and two touchdowns and completed 10 of 16 passes for 145 yards, with one touchdown and one interception. MICDS also had a good performance from junior <strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="37656" first="Steve" last="Hall"]</strong>, who rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="177543" first="Malious" last="Cain"], 6-4, 200, Vashon, 2023</strong>
Cain completed 13 of 16 passes for 175 yards and three touchdowns and ran for another touchdown in the Wolverines 48-6 win at Roosevelt. In five games this season, Cain has passed for 658 yards and 10 touchdowns (against one interception) and run for two touchdowns.
<strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="37634" first="Kameron" last="Gillespie"], 6-0, 180, McCluer, 2023</strong>
Gillespie scored three touchdowns, including two punt returns, and had three catches for 44 yards in the Comets’ 64-0 win over visiting Affton. The electric senior returned a punt 71 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter, caught a 13-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter, and then scored again on a 52-yard punt return in the fourth quarter. Gillespie has 12 touchdowns this season – seven receiving, three on returns and two rushing – and 504 total yards (305 receiving, 199 rushing). If you combine the five-game spring season, Gillespie has 19 touchdowns in his last 10 games.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="197576" first="Gerard" last="Grewe"], 6-3, 195, Priory, 2023</strong>
Grewe accounted for five touchdowns, including four in the second half, in the Ravens’ 36-22 win over visiting Westminster on Saturday. He completed 13 of 19 passes for 181 yards, with one touchdown and one interception, and ran for 130 yards and four scores on 13 carries. In five games, Grewe has completed 68.4 percent of his passes for 994 yards and nine touchdowns, against four interceptions, and also run for a team-high 539 yards and nine touchdowns.
<strong>QB [player_tooltip player_id="172448" first="Micheal" last="Hopkins"], 5-11, 190, McCluer, 2023</strong>
Hopkins completed 10 of 20 passes for 212 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 155 yards and two touchdowns in the win over Affton. His top target on Saturday was senior <strong>WR [player_tooltip player_id="172662" first="Dennis" last="Keyes"]</strong>, who caught four passes for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
For the season, Hopkins has completed 62 percent of his passes for 880 yards and 13 touchdowns (against three interceptions) and has run for 513 yards and 11 scores.
<strong>RB [player_tooltip player_id="207542" first="Calvin" last="Swinney"], 5-10, 180, Clayton, 2023</strong>
Swinney did a little bit of everything in the Greyhounds’ 44-36 victory against visiting Principia. He ran 20 times for 179 yards and three touchdowns and snagged three interceptions. Swinney has come up big for Clayton the past two games, both wins. A week earlier he rushed for 17 times for 209 yards and two touchdowns against Affton.
