Week 2 of the high school football season in the Show-Me State produced plenty of memorable moments and victories.
Here is a quick look at some of the standout performances from throughout Central Missouri...
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="37562" first="Jace" last="Carr"], 6-2, 165, WR-DB, Harrisburg, Class of 2022</strong>
Carr made an impact on both sides of the ball on Friday in Harrisburg’s 28-26 win against visiting Milan. He caught six passes for 77 yards and a touchdown on offense, but was equally as impressive if not more so on defense. He recorded two interceptions to help the Bulldogs pull out their second straight win and his second interception, late in the fourth quarter, sealed the two-point victory.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="196508" first="Tyger" last="Cobb"], 5-11, 170, QB, Hallsville, Class of 2022</strong>
Cobb accounted for four touchdowns in Hallsville’s 46-12 victory against visiting Centralia, which pushed the Indians to 2-0. The fleet-footed senior quarterback ran for 188 yards and four touchdowns on just 14 carries and threw for 164 yards and a touchdown pass. (<a href="http://www.hudl.com/v/2Fj0Lv">HUDL highlights</a>)
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="103089" first="Nathan" last="Dent"], 6-0, 185, Rock Bridge, Class of 2022</strong>
Dent fueled Rock Bridge’s 50-0 blowout over Smith-Cotton with a dominating performance in the first half. The senior quarterback ran for three touchdowns and threw a touchdown pass in the first half as the Bruins rolled to a 31-0 lead at the intermission.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="37588" first="Calen" last="Kruger"], 5-10, 175, QB, California, Class of 2022</strong>
Kruger completed 13 of 26 passes for 312 yards and four touchdowns and ran for 31 yards and a score in California’s 47-21 win at Fulton. Kruger threw for 207 yards and a touchdown in his team’s 24-6 season-opening win over St. James.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="197419" first="Tanner" last="Lanes"], 6-4, 160, QB, Harrisburg, Class of 2022</strong>
Lanes led Harrisburg to a 28-26 victory over visiting Milan on Friday to push the Bulldogs to 2-0 on the young season. The senior standout rushed for 62 yards and three touchdowns and threw for 210 yards and a touchdown.
Harrisburg, which went 8-4 a year ago, hosts Salisbury (1-1) up next on Friday night.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="96233" first="DJ" last="Wesolak"], 6-5, 235, OLB-DE, Boonville, Class of 2022</strong>
The No. 3 player in Missouri’s Class of 2022 rankings, Wesolak did a little bit of everything in Boonville’s 13-6 win at Holden on Friday. He racked up 11 tackles, including one for loss, and a sack on defense and caught the game-winning touchdown pass in the fourth quarter. Boonville (1-1) plays at Southern Boone in Week 3.
