Hilliard Darby
#41 Ben Marsh Ben Marsh 6'3" | 225 lbs | LB Hilliard Darby | 2023 State OH MLB (2023) – Ben was a force on the Darby defense like he has been all year long. He makes plays in the run and pass game all over the field. He plays beyond his age and reminds me of a seasoned college defensive player. Very patient and technical. Reads plays well and takes on blocks with his hands inside. He sheds blocks well away from his gap and makes tough tackles in the hole. Gets over the top quickly and makes good tackles on the perimeter. When called upon is a sufficient pass dropper with good closing speed on the routes underneath.
#8 Jakob Williams DE (2023) – Two way star for Darby. Very flexible and twitchy in his stance. What he lacks in weight, he makes up for in aggression. He comes off the ball with a flat back and uses his hands well to get inside. Very impressive pass rusher and has a couple of quick moves to get into the backfield routinely. Keep an eye on his development over the year.
Marysville
#36 Gabe Powers Gabe Powers 6'4" | 225 lbs | LB Marysville | 2022 State OH LB (2022) – Easily, this Ohio State commit, is the best player on the field. You have to account for him on both sides of the ball every play. He is strong, athletic, and relentless as a defensive player. He has next level ability in his movements and gets after the offense. He is very skilled technician and can play a variety of positions. He is a tenacious tackler with good drive and aggression. Could be a player in 5 years on Sundays.
#43 Braden Deere FS (2022) – Braden is one of the most aggressive safeties in Central Ohio. He makes great tackles all over the field and has great cover ability. In this game was called upon to provide run support and routinely was on the LOS making plays. Has great technique and the ability to read plays. Gets downhill fast and is twitchy. The sky is the limit for him.
