Continue ReadingThis week Jordan’s Road Trip heads to Peotone to watch the Rumble on Route 50 Rivalry game against the Manteno Panthers. It was a hard-fought battle going back and forth throughout the game, Peotone was able to come away with the 35 – 21 win keeping the helmet for another year. Without further ado, let’s dive into the Offensive Standouts for this matchup.
Peotone
Darek Knauer 5’11 175 22’ RB
17 carries for 111 yards, 3 TDs
Mr. Knauer came out to make a name for himself in Friday Night’s Rivalry game against Manteno. He’s a patient runner that follows his blocks, once the running lane opens up he bursts through the line of scrimmage. This young man isn’t afraid to lower his shoulder to play through contact either. He keeps his feet driving fighting for extra yards as the defenders try to bring him down. Mr. Knauer is also a good lead blocker, he helps open up the running lanes for his teammates with a reach block. Once he gets hands-on, he keeps his feet driving and pushes the defender back 5 to 10 yards downfield.

Dylan Sroka Dylan Sroka 5'9" | 165 lbs | RB Peotone | 2023 IL 5’10 165 23’ RB Twitter
20 carries for 91 yards
Mr. Sroka is a sight to see for the Blue Devil’s offensive unit. He bursts through the line of scrimmage with his quick acceleration and utilizes his jump cuts to make the first defender miss. If the initial running lane gets clogged he has no problem bouncing the plays outside where he has the speed to turn the corner. When defenders try to bring this young man down they have a tough task as he keeps his feet driving fighting for extra yards. He’s a smaller running back at the moment, upon putting on more size he should be on your radar if you’re a D2, NAIA, & D3 coach.
Austin Massat Austin Massat 6'0" | 240 lbs | DL Peotone | 2022 State IL 6’1 245 22’ OL Twitter
Mr. Massat is aggressive at the point of attack. He fires off the ball getting hands-on quickly and once he does he’s either going to pancakes the defender or drive him back 8 plus yards downfield. This young man creates running lanes when he square pulls, he keeps his head on a swivel being aware of his surroundings and can block the defender in open space. What I like most about Mr. Massat is how he plays through the whistle and doesn’t give up on the play. This was showcased this past Friday as his teammate was about to get brought to the ground 5 yards away from the endzone. Instead of watching the play happen, this young man sprints to his teammate and pushed him into the endzone resulting in a touchdown. It’s that type of effort and aggression that you like to see out of an offensive lineman.
TJ Chenoweth 5’9 160 22’ QB Twitter
6 carries for 28 yards, 1 TD
Mr. Chenoweth is basically another running back at the quarterback position with the way that he’s utilized. This past spring he played at wing-back and you see those skillsets transition to his quarterback role. When he has the ball in his hands he’s a hard runner that keeps his feet driving and plays through the whistle. We got a glimpse into his throwing skillset when he threw on the run where he flipped his hips putting the ball into the receiver’s basket downfield.
Manteno
Jack Prindeville Jack Prindeville 5'7" | 140 lbs | WR Manteno | 2022 State IL 5’7 140 22’ WR Twitter
Mr. Prindeville is a smaller receiver that gets upfield quickly once he secures the catch. He’s a shifty receiver that can make the first defender miss and uses his quick acceleration to gain a step on the defender. This helps him with his route running, specifically with the break at the top of his route which creates separation from the defender. This young man also runs a nice 3 step slant across the middle of the field where he comes down with the ball by making a possession catch. Mr. Prindeville is a reliable option for Manteno’s offensive unit, keep an eye on him as the season progresses. If you’re a D2, NAIA, or D3 school that’s looking for a quick slot receiver go check out this young man to see if he’s a fit for your program.

Carter Drazy 6’0 165 22’ QB Twitter
Mr. Drazy is at the helm of Manteno’s offensive unit this season, he’s mobile that has the ability to pull the ball down to scramble if nothing is open downfield. When he scrambles he keeps his feet driving and fights for extra yards. This young man sets his feet before throwing the ball and has the ability to put zip on the ball. This is seen on different occasions where he put the ball between the linebackers and safety for a completion downfield. He’s also able to put a touch on the ball and throw on the run where does a good job of flipping his hips to put extra velocity on the ball.

Justin Wilson Justin Wilson 6'3" | 260 lbs | OL Manteno | 2022 State IL 6’3 250 22’ OL Twitter
Mr. Wilson gets after it on the offensive side of the ball by playing through the whistle and attacking at the point of attack. He works up to 2nd level blocks and gets hands-on to wash the defensive lineman down creating running lanes for his teammate to run through. Mr. Wilson fires off the ball and gets after it with his aggressive playstyle.
