Let’s take a look…
Earl Kulp – Wide receiver/Defensive back
2024 Earl Kulp is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound athlete for St. Thomas Aquinas. Kulp is capable of playing both wide receiver and defensive back. In this case, I looked at tape of him playing corner. Kulp showed active hands whether he was closing on a defender or reaching up to deflect a pass. His reach gives him a nice access point to disrupt completions. He holds offers from Ole Miss, Penn State, Colorado, Michigan, South Carolina and Pittsburgh. Kulp has family ties to the Ohio area. Could that mean a call from Ohio State coach Ryan Day? Check out his hudl by clicking here.
James Madison II – Wide receiver
2024 James Madison II is originally from Kansas City. The 6-foot-4, 200-pound wide receiver comes from a rich football family. His cousin, Josh Jacobs, played at Alabama and is currently with the Las Vegas Raiders. Madison II is great at locating the football and making people miss in the open field. He is a big target with a great frame to punish smaller defensive backs. Madison II has great hands and will come down with 50/50 balls. I think his athleticism and size sets him apart from many others at the position. Madison II is an ideal college receiver. He holds offers from Colorado, Florida State, Maryland, Miami and Syracuse and Tennessee.
Michael Kern – Kicker/Punter
2024 Michael Kern looks to have serious accuracy and range. The 6-foot-3, 160-pound specialist went four-of-five on field goals with a long of 52 yards in the team’s spring game. Against St. Frances Academy, Kern kicked a 28-yard field goal and went 5-for-5 on extra points. He looks very consistent in the early going.
David “Tank” Pein – Defensive tackle
2024 David Pein is a literal tank at 5-foot-11, 235 pounds. I watched some tape on him and this is what I found. Pein is a physical kid that creates great push with his hands. A player with his leverage and lower body strength can be tough to stop. In addition, he looked quick off the snap and got into the backfield on multiple occasions. Pein will throw of an offensive rhythm. He will rack up TFL’s in the future or cause a quarterback to scramble out of the pocket. I love his overall motor and attack. Pein is also a great student with a 3.6 GPA.
James McDevitt – Offensive lineman
2024 James McDevitt has a great chance to develop on the front line. I expect him to grow and put on more weight this season. McDevitt is listed at 6-foot-1, 220 pounds. Keep an eye out for him.
