This game absolutely ruled. With 5 second-half lead changes, a packed house, and two teams who truly believed that they would win, this game was one for the ages. Although there were 72 total points put on the board, there were some major standouts on the defensive end. Let’s take a look at who performed best.
Forest Hills Central
CB Ben Scholler - Scholler was a vocal leader on the Ranger defense. Showing good coverage ability, and surprisingly great tackling, Scholler had a good game. I remember just after a late Grand Blanc score, Ben encouraged the defense to keep their heads up, and to BLOCK THAT KICK! I was impressed by Scholler’s effort, technique, and leadership.
MLB [player_tooltip player_id="30202" first="Tyler" last="Weaver"] - No surprise here, Weaver was all over the field today with 12 tackles. Although Jackson-Anderson for Grand blanc posted more than 100 yards, the FHC front 7 led by Weaver played quite well for the majority of the game. Weaver is just as good as advertised and I can’t wait to see what else he can accomplish this year.
Grand Blanc
LB Josh Fisher - WIth a blocked punt, multiple QB hits, and TFL’s, Fisher was a force on the Bobcat defense. I’m super impressed by his ability to make quick reads and run straight to the ball carrier. Fisher should have a great season going forward.
