Jacob Steward, DL, Cactus Shadows ’22
Steward was an absolute monster on Thursday night, racking up a massive 26 total tackles with 3 sacks and 6 TFL’s. Steward did a solid job with play rec and frequently took good pursuit tracks toward ball carriers. He showed the ability to shed and disengage off blocks quickly as well.
Thomas DeChesaro Thomas DeChesaro 5'10" | 185 lbs | DB Saguaro | 2022 State AZ , DB, Saguaro ’22
DeChesaro forced a fumble, recorded a sack, and totaled 8 tackles on a close 20-14 win over ALA Queen Creek. He flashed solid closing speed and a good punch through the hands to force a PBU. Solid play rec and short area quickness to fly around and put himself in position to make plays. Very solid night for Dechesaro.
Justin Regehr Justin Regehr 6'0" | 195 lbs | LB Valley Christian | 2022 State AZ , LB, Valley Christian ’22
Regehr lands himself on this list once again, as he racked up 18 tackles on Friday night. He showed solid instincts and play rec with good range as he can make plays sideline to sideline. He closes well as a tackler and is strong at the POA, and flashed a nice striking ability as well. He had a potential TD saving tackle which was about an 8 yard gain instead of a 60 yard TD. He continues to impress and prove himself every week, and needs to be a 3A LB to get on your radar.
Chandler Davis Chandler Davis 6'2" | 230 lbs | LB Hamilton | 2023 State AZ , DL, Hamilton ’23
Davis had a clutch performance as he recorded 4 sacks to help Hamilton secure the W over Casteel. He displayed an excellent initial ball get off to frequently become a menace in the backfield, as he was often untouched due to his quickness. A raw athlete up front for Hamilton as he was a clear mismatch and a major difference maker on that 23-13 win.
Skylar Edmonds, LB, Red Mountain ’22
Edmonds had a big night as he racked up 10 tackles and a pick six on a deflected pass. He’s a speedy and rangy OLB/Nickel for Red Mountain with loads of potential. He shows good closing speed as a tackler and attacks with a low POC. He showed glimpses of explosiveness through the tackle as well and is a major contributor on that Red Mountain defense.
Fisher Camac Fisher Camac 6'7" | 210 lbs | DL Highland | 2022 State AZ , DL, Highland ’22
Camac has continued to mature and impress since last season, as he had a 3 sack night to help Highland give Pinnacle their 2nd loss of the season. Two of his sacks looked like missed assignments, as he came off the edge untouched. He possesses solid functional strength and uses all 6’7″ 230lbs of himself to his advantage.
