Its midseason football yall! Time to really start seeing who is about it and who isn't. In this article I'm going over the players who have shown me that they are about it!
DYLAN RAIOLA BURLESON HS QB 6’3" 210lbs
1505 passing yards 11 Touchdowns and 4 rushing Touchdowns
Dylan Raiola is a patient passer with great touch accuracy on the run or from the pocket. Impressive Post snap ability, you can regularly see Raiola scanning the field for his open reciever and making the good decision. Raiola is number 10 right now for passing yards in Texas.
LANDEN CHAMBERS KELLER FOSSIL RIDGE RB 6’ 205lbs
804 rushing yards 14 rushing Touchdowns
Landen Chambers is a "can do it all" type of runningback. You need a him to block in pass protection? Got it. Need him to run a route from the backfield and make reciever catches? Got it. Ofcourse you need a runningback that can carry the ball and run through defenders to gain tough redzone yardage, right? Got it. I really cant say enough about Landen Chambers so in conclusion, Chambers is a tough runner of the football but also brings more to the table in the passing game. Also worth bringing up Chambers is currently tied for 3rd in total touchdowns for runningbacks in Texas with 15.
BROCK HAYWARD VR EATEN LB 6’ 220lbs
57 tackles 34 solo 1 sack 1 int 2 FF
Brock Hayward has amazing pursuit speed to the football. Hayward watches the play set up, makes his decision, then it’s straight to the ball carrier! An absolute problem for offenses trying to move the chains.
LUKE PETERSON BURLESON DB/WR 5’10" 165lbs
32 catches 658 receiving yards 8 receiving touchdowns
4 interceptions 2 pass deflections 10 tackles
Luke Peterson has fluid route running ability that gets him open often, especially on deep routes averaging 21 yards a catch. Post catch Peterson is not easy to bring down, great balance and toughness keep him up right to gain more yardage. On defense he is averaging almost 1 interception per game, that’s someone you certainly you down want to throw at.
[player_tooltip player_id="60842" first="Jake" last="Strong"] NORTHWEST QB 6’2" 190lbs
1145 passing yards 15 passing touchdowns 61 carries 363 rushing yards 2 rushing touchdowns
[player_tooltip player_id="60842" first="Jake" last="Strong"] is a quarterback of many capabilities. Strong has the arm to boom it down for on a dime, to go with speed to take a designed quaterback run 60 yards!
ZAC O’DAY KELLER HIGHSCHOOL DB 6’ 190lbs
3 int 32 solo tackles 46 total tackles
Zac O’Day is an extremely intelligent football player. Takes great angles, high points the ball, a big time hitter but also a tremendous wrap up tackler. O’Day really understands the game of football and realizes what he has to do to make plays, whether that be making the big interception or delivering a punishing hit on the receiver to make sure there is no completion.
KELSON COTNER EULESS TRINITY K 6’2" 165lbs
4/5 FG 51 FG long 24/25 pat
Kelson Cotner is a reliable kicker with a strong leg. Watching his 51 yard field goal, I think he could have made that kick from even further out.
