While watching film and listening to the opinions of others is fine, there is nothing like standing less than five feet from these athletes and seeing firsthand what they bring to the table.
Watching camps, combines, scrimmages, practices and games provides a forum that many do not have, so when ranking a prospect or a team, you have a better idea of what is out there.
There are very few sources that concentrate on every prospect and program. Many are fixed on elite players and teams – and for over a half century – we have been able to give everyone a piece of the spotlight.
As we do each and every Thursday during the football season, we bring you 5 prospects to keep an eye on. Here are this week’s:
2023 – Keyondray Jones, RB, Apopka. If you are looking for a reason why the Blue Darters have been so impressive through the first three games on offense, look no further than this quick, elusive and gifted back, who is strong and athletic. Watch him run and you will see why he has gotten off to such a hot start. His ability to read defenses has been vital to his maturity, and it has been showing each and every week.

2023 – Oniel Senatus, RB/WR/FS, 5-11, 165, Kissimmee Celebration. Easily one of the biggest stories of the season for a team that is truly one of the major stories after three weeks. Not only has he been putting up some large numbers for the Storm, but this is someone who is capable of getting it done from just about anywhere on the field. Quality talent that this program is relying on.

2022 – Ladamien Starks, WR/CB, 6-0, 175, Hudson. Not the fastest or the biggest, but when it comes to playing football, here is definitely a standout athlete who deserves to be on that field – and he has proven it. As a receiver, he is not afraid to mix it up with bigger players, knowing that he has the hands and concentration to make plays. Against River Ridge last week, when his 5 catches, 4 touchdowns, 76-yard kick return for a score, 270 yards and interception on defense, here is a standout who put himself out there.

2022 – Mike Villanueva, LB, 6-2, 210, Miami Christopher Columbus. Before the season began, there were a number of prospects that this coaching staff promoted and talked about, in every class, but here is a talent who has stepped up and made a difference for a program that been tested in every game so far. Even in the loss to 3A power Chaminade-Madonna, he never stopped trying to help make a difference. A playmaker who will have the opportunity to get the Explorers rolling once again.

2023 – James Zebroski James Zebroski 6'6" | 295 lbs | OL Jacksonville Bolles | 2023 FL , OL, 6-5.5, 295, Jacksonville Bolles. If you have followed Bolles this year, you already know what this young man has been doing to turn heads and send the recruiters in his direction. Has the size, quickness and athleticism to be a really good line prospect for years to come. His size is what attracts you to watch him, but his talent will keep you coming back.
