Let’s go over some of my standout players for week 2 of the 2021 season. Alot of factors go into winning a football game so with that being said whether your team won or lost this week, if you gave it your all and made plays then I am here to show recognition for the effort. Let’s get started!
[player_tooltip player_id="122024" first="Jacob" last="Trimble"] 6’ 180lbs WR FORT WORTH CHRISTIAN
[player_tooltip player_id="122024" first="Jacob" last="Trimble"] had 7 receptions for 85 yards and a touchdown in week 2. An exciting player to watch after the catch, Trimble is not an easy guy to bring down. Showing that on a slant that he took to the house after breaking 3 tackles with a straight arm, spin and juke to get there. Trimble is a weapon on the field , I am looking for him to make even more big time plays this season.
AUSTIN COLEMAN RB KELLER HIGHSCHOOL
Austin Coleman is a shift runner that finds open space and gets there quickly. Coleman had a magnificent 77 yard Touchdown run in week 2 against Denton Braswell! With the whole defense crashing around him in the backfield, Coleman broke 2 tackles and outran everyone to the endzone to put his team up in the 3rd quarter. Coleman could be a dangerous returner with his vision and breakout speed, just get him the ball more.
JAKE WILSON 6’1" 190lbs QB BYRON NELSON
Jake Wilson lead his team to a 34-24 win over Grapevine Highschool. A 4 touchdown performance which showed Wilson making all the throws with great accuracy and touch, putting the ball in the right spot for his recievers. Wilson navigates well in the pocket and also has the ability to throw on the run. A field general that is a difference maker for his team.
SOUTHWEST CHRISTIAN RBs
JOESEPH ZIEMIAN 5’10" 180lbs
ANTWUAN POLK 6’ 210lbs
I was just going to add one but I couldn’t not put both of these backs on this list. My breakdown of these guys showed me 2 different runners of the football that combined for 5 of the 6 touchdowns for SouthWest Christian in their 48-21 win over Fort Worth Country Day. Zeimian is a quick shifty back, running his way to 131 yards on 7 carries with 2 Touchdowns. Polk is a power back that doesnt go down, putting up 186 yards on 12 carries and 3 Touchdowns. Their tandem has good potential, I look for them to continue this moving forward.
BRANDON FORREST RB NORTHSIDE HIGHSCHOOL
Forrest showed his versatility this game in the receiving game and the run in the 48-0 win in week 2 against Jefferson. A patient runner that read his blocks well and bursts through the line to picking up 2 touchdowns on the ground. Good hands from the backfield picking up another touchdown through the air.
NAI MOSE 6’ 215lbs LB EULESS TRINITY
Mose is a powerful linebacker with great initial speed off of the edge. If Mose doesnt get to the Quaterback, he punishes runningbacks attempting to block him. Mose is an aggressive player during contact that gives it his all until he hears the whistle. A force off of the edge with his initial speed , Mose stays around the ball and enjoys taking down ball carriers with intensity!
