The season is rapidly approaching, and prospects are making use of the opportunity to go on official and unofficial recruiting visits. Meanwhile, a few recruits were even able to commit to some institutions over the weekend. We are going to look at some of the recruits making some visits as well as some of the recruits that committed a few weeks before the season starts.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="127245" first="Ryan" last="Maxwell"]-Defensive Back-Fayetteville-2022</strong>
The Fayetteville Bulldog defensive back paid a visit to Centre College in Danville, Kentucky. Maxwell is a lockdown defensive back for the Bulldogs. He has good speed and uses his hands well to jam the wide receiver at the line of scrimmage. Maxwell has the potential to explode this season. The offseason he has really put in the work and set the bar high, and more offers should start to roll in over the next few months.
<strong>Charles Nimrod-Wide Receiver-Bentonville-2022</strong>
One player that has seen his recruitment take off over the past few months is Charles Nimrod. Nimrod is a big play threat from anywhere on the field. He is particularly dangerous in the red zone where he can use his 6-2 frame to create separation from the opposing defensive back. The scholarship offers poured in this week for Nimrod. Three schools offered the Bentonville wide receiver a scholarship; the Tennessee Volunteers, Michigan Wolverines, and Purdue Boilermakers all offered Nimrod this week. Nimrod has the potential to have a huge season on the gridiron this season and his recruitment has shown that scouts expect that very thing.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="170805" first="Joey" last="Su’a"]-Offensive Line-Bentonville-2023</strong>
Su’a is a powerhouse of an offensive lineman that will earn some snaps this season for the Bentonville Tigers. Su’a has already earned eight scholarship offers thus far this season. With BYU, Georgia, Central Arkansas, and Fresno State being some of the schools to offer Su’a. Su’a is going to be an offensive lineman to keep an eye on over the next two seasons. He plays with a good mix of power and speed and has the ability to punish opposing defensive linemen. Su’a had a busy weekend picking up a scholarship offer from Arkansas over the weekend on his unofficial visit.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75083" first="Mark" last="Welch"]-Offensive Lineman-Camden Fairview-2022</strong>
The Camden Fairview offensive line has the potential to be one of the state’s best this season. It was a big weekend for one of the most talented offensive linemen in the class of 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="75083" first="Mark" last="Welch"]. Welch placed a verbal commitment to the Central Arkansas Bears over the weekend. Welch gives Central Arkansas an offensive lineman that has quick feet and good power. Keep an eye on Welch and Camden Fairview, they both have the potential to have a strong season.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="92754" first="Deorius" last="Cobbs"]-Athlete-Jacksonville-2022</strong>
Cobbs is an impressive athlete on both sides of the ball. On the defensive side of the ball, Cobbs quickly diagnosis a play and is always in a position to make a tackle. He makes use of his impressive speed to always be around the football. Cobbs placed a verbal commitment to Central Arkansas over the weekend. He has the potential to have an impressive season for the Titans this season. Cobbs is the second big recruit that the Bears were able to land over the weekend. Cobbs and Welch made it a great weekend for the Bears.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75127" first="Shamar" last="Easter"]-Tight End-Ashdown-2023</strong>
The number one player in the state for the Prep RedZone Arkansas class of 2023 spent a few days in Fayetteville over the weekend. For Easter it was his second visit of the summer to Fayetteville and the University of Arkansas. He is getting to know the coaches and is becoming more comfortable with the coaches at Arkansas. Easter is one of the top athletes in the state of Arkansas so him make the trip to Fayetteville is always important for the Arkansas Razorbacks.
<strong>[player_tooltip player_id="75129" first="DeAndra" last="Burns"]-Wide Receiver-El Dorado-2023</strong>
The El Dorado Wildcat spend a few days over the weekend at Baylor. Burns has terrific speed, and he will be a nightmare for the opposing defense to contain this season. He uses his speed well to create separation. It does not come as a surprise that Burns is being evaluated and scouted by colleges like Baylor. Burns has already earned a scholarship offer from the University of Arkansas and he has the talent to terrorize defenses at the next level. He is going to be a player to watch over the next few seasons.
