Trey Holsman Trey Holsman 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Archbishop Wood | 2022 State PA | 6’0, 165 | QB | Archbishop Wood | 2022
Poised senior who can stand in and deliver tough throws when pressured. Raw arm talent. Little shaky footwork when dropping back from under center. Prefer him in shotgun sets. Smart player who understands so much and is incredibly aware of his surroundings. Holsman is aware of the pass rush, aware to step up if the pocket is clean in front of him. Aware enough to know he has to stay in and deliver balls when a hit is coming. He isn’t athletic per se, but again, is aware enough to know when to tuck and run and get what he can with his legs. Displays consistent throwing motion on the run and in the pocket. Shows a quick transition from scanning and reading to releasing. There’s some anticipation, seasoned quarterback. Solid downfield accuracy when targeting players outside the numbers. As a whole, Holsman isn’t a flashy prospect. He does what’s needed of him and can be trusted to run the offense. With an upgraded offense, I expect his numbers to elevate.
Zymeen Howell Zymeen Howell 5'8" | ATH West Catholic | 2022 State PA | 5’8 | DB/WR | West Catholic | 2022
I’m fond of Hilliard and Greene on West Catholic, not sure how Zymeen Howell Zymeen Howell 5'8" | ATH West Catholic | 2022 State PA slipped my radar. He’s literally all over the field for WC, providing reps at QB, RB, WR, DB, and on special teams. This kid is an athlete in space. He’s adept at making the first man miss in the backfield, especially at quarterback where he can manipulate leverage in space. He made two defenders miss and took a quarterback draw 99 yards to the house on one electric play. He’s got some serious lateral agility when bouncing outside. I understand why WC gives the kid automatic reps. Whether it be QB sweeps or Jet Sweeps behind the line of scrimmage, Howell will do all he can to get yardage. With all this said, I do believe Howell could take his stock to the next level by solidifying his role as a defensive back. Pass break-up after pass break-up. Howell’s got the ball awareness and skills to make a play on the ball. He can elevate too. I trust him to make plays on the ball above his head and complete knife tackles in space. His tackling is a plus, as are his feet at corner. The only downside is his less-than-ideal frame. Not something that would prevent him from getting looks.
Jameer Johnson Jameer Johnson 6'0" | 220 lbs | DL Frankford | 2022 State PA | 6’0, 220 | ATH | Frankford | 2022
Johnson is due for a tackle-for-loss two to three yards behind the line of scrimmage at least once per game. Looks a lot bigger on film than his measurables suggest. Taller too. Moves so well for a big man. Moves like a linebacker at times. Best trait is his overall strength when locked in high with linemen. Frankford’s senior defensive lineman is deft at getting his hands into passing lanes if his raw pass-rush doesn’t hit home. He’s a bully with a high motor who is on the path to disrupt everything.
Efrain Quiles Efrain Quiles 6'2" | 205 lbs | LB Lansdale Catholic | 2023 State PA | 6’0, 190 | LB/RB | Lansdale Catholic | 2023
Much like Howell, Lansdale’s got a junior prospect who can line up all over the field. Slot receiver, defensive back, running back. As the ball carrier, Quiles is a long strider who prefers to not play games in the open field and get upfield in a hurry. Solid hands out of the kid, can be trusted to catch swings and out routes from his running back position. His frame is a bit lanky, isn’t necessarily the ideal running back build. Where Quiles really stands out is at outside linebacker. He screams upfield in a flash and has a good jump off the line of scrimmage. As a package, I would love to see how Quiles would handle a safety spot. He can tackle, he’s got the foot speed to work on his range, and experience catching the ball. I’m intrigued by his future.
Zion Brake | 6’0, 130 | ATH | Easton Area | 2025
Zion Brake is a name we may be hearing about soon. I expect it to be. The kid already has the foundation and initial skillset necessary to develop. No gimmicks in his game. Solid arm strength. Tough player who will step up and make tackles when at corner. His Hudl shows he can deliver slants with some anticipation. Awesome size already. Time to hit the weight room and get that 130 to 150! He scans the middle of the field well. The sets call for short routes, he can throw those short routes accurately when stationary or on the move. Orchestrates the offense well. Interested in this kid’s future and what he can handle in high school.
Luke Ordway Luke Ordway 6'4" | 200 lbs | TE Boyertown Area | 2022 State PA | 6’4, 200 | DE/TE | Boyertown Area | 2022
Another player who deserves a true ATH designation. Glad I don’t have to figure out where Ordway helps Boyertown the most. Edge rusher, outside linebacker, tight end, wide receiver, AND long snapper. Ordway’s a red zone threat for BAHS. Can chip, release, and show his numbers to the quarterback. He’s a big hitter and instinctive defender. Love him on defense. He’s got long arms, he’s tough to engage on both sides of the ball if he can get full extension on his punch. Will rely on speed and length when pass rushing. Looks a little undersized, weight-wise, when watching film. Hopefully, the 200-LBs is an updated measurable. His wide base and long limbs make him a solid edge setter. He’s a tough player to bounce on, disciplined when unblocked. Ordway is a legitimate pass-catcher as well.
Payton Wehner Payton Wehner 6'0" | 175 lbs | QB Pittsburgh Central Catholic | 2024 State PA | 6’0, 150 | QB | Central Catholic | 2024
Fun young player to watch on Central Catholic’s junior varsity team. Shows he can locate targets downfield, an advanced trait for such a young player. Excels when on the move, he’s a serious dual-threat quarterback, he’s got the burst and acceleration needed to hit a second-gear in the open field. He’s seen throwing 40+ yards downfield from the pocket. An elusive prospect, will put you on your heels when he is in full sprint. Good change of direction ability could turn out to be great in the future. Track coach should get his hands on him ASAP. That same speed was on display in short Varsity appearances. That speed translates. I want to see if Wehner the quarterback translates, not just Wehner the athlete.
Khani Knight Khani Knight 6'2" | 180 lbs | QB Abraham Lincoln | 2023 State PA | 150 | QB | Lincoln | 2023
Khani is a player who I have had my eyes on since the Spring, where he saw a productive sophomore debut season. This kid is just tapping into his potential. Knight is showing promise as a passer, and what’s more promising is that he’s still has a ton of room to grow under his pads. He’s an effective runner, an aspect of his game I expect to develop the more work he puts in the weight room. He possesses the escapability behind the line of scrimmage that makes you wonder if there’s more he can do. He’s an effective passer in the red zone too. Proficient and accurate. Leads players well on outside breaking routes. He shows an understanding of velocity control, when to put touch on balls or when to throw with heat. As I said, the sky’s the limit for Knight at Lincoln.
