From a recruiting standpoint, these prospects have not received a ton of attention, but we believe that could change quickly. Look for these prospects to take yet another big step forward and put together a monster senior season. The following list was based on our most recent 2022 rankings update.
RB: Brenden Craig Brenden Craig 5'9" | 150 lbs | RB Massillon Jackson | 2022 State OH , 5’9″, 165, Massillon Jackson
A shifty back that can get it done through the air or on the ground. His ability to decelerate then turn back on the jets is just filthy. He has the speed to turn the corner and lower body strength to easily run through arm tackles. Watch out for his stiff arm, too, as he buried multiple opponents with it in 2020. Don’t be surprised if FBS schools start calling soon with scholarship offers for Mr. Craig.
OL: Cassius Hulbert Cassius Hulbert 6'3" | 300 lbs | OL Edon | 2022 OH , 6’3″, 295, Edon
An aggressive mauler that consistently plays with an edge from white to whistle. Hulbert is a guard prospect through and through, equipped with imposing strength. He regularly creates vertical displacement off the snap and looks to finish every one of his blocks. He plays with great hand placement on the breastplate and proficient knee drive.
DB: Eric Jones Jr., 6’, 170, Holy Name
A dynamic cornerback with outstanding instincts and ball skills. Jones can climb the ladder and will attack the football at its highest point. He accelerates out of his breaks with tight footwork and pristine burst. He reads passing concepts increasingly well and is not afraid to jump a route & take it the other way. This young man was a big-play machine in 2020, and look for him to be even better this fall.
WR: Mark Gillam Mark Gillam 5'6" | 135 lbs | WR Reynoldsburg | 2022 State OH , 5’6″, 135, Reynoldsburg
Gilliam was simply lightning in a bottle for Reynoldsburg in 2020. This may be the best return man in all of Ohio. His vision and cutting ability make defenders look silly on tape. He’s so quick once he spots a seam and uses mere balance to find a way to evade tackles. Mark was electric when working out of the slot and was an absolute nightmare to guard on vertical concepts downfield. He’s not the tallest guy out there, but you cannot deny his immense ability to create the big play.
LB: Anas Luqman Anas Luqman 6'4" | 210 lbs | LB Princeton | 2022 OH , 6’3″, 205, Princeton
A long, athletic outside linebacker with eye-opening acceleration once he reads run. Luqman displayed a high a motor on film, retracing his steps as a rusher and chasing quarterbacks down from the backside. He uses his long arms to his advantage to create separation on blockers but also swat away passes at the line. He played more as a stand-up edge type rusher for Princeton but projects as a true 4-3 sam linebacker at the next level.
