<em>Wrapping up the San Diego positional preview series with a look at some of the players to watch in the secondary this season. </em> <span style="font-weight: 400;">[player_tooltip player_id="141879" first="Jahlil" last="Florence"]- <strong>Lincoln, 2022 </strong></span> <span style="font-weight: 400;">Florence is a fellow Oregon commit alongside Lincoln teammate [player_tooltip player_id="25238" first="Jalil" last="Tucker"]. He’s a huge impact playmaker on defense with incredible instincts and physical talent. He excels in press-man playing bump-and-run and finishes plays with elite ball skills. He’s also a physical corner that isn’t afraid to deliver hits in the run game. In coverage, he shows quick hips and the speed to keep pace with receivers. He’s already made impacts in Lincoln’s first two games, holding standout 2023 WR [player_tooltip player_id="190270" first="DeAndre" last="Moore"] to 0 catches in Friday’s loss to Los Alamitos. He plays well with his eyes in zone coverage and has the athleticism to match up with talented WRs in man. Grant showed in the spring the ability to cover in open space and proved to be a reliable tackler in run support. As a FS, he shows great range covering sideline-to-sideline and tackles well in open space. He brings high effort and intensity to the secondary.
