[player_tooltip player_id="147708" first="Elijah" last="Brown"], Mater Dei, 2024
Mater Dei went to Texas and took on one of its top teams in Duncanville and showed Texas what Southern California football is all about. Brown proved he is the next star quarterback from Mater Dei. The sophomore threw for 269 yards and three touchdowns in the 45-3 win. Brown is accurate to all levels of the field and can extend plays with his legs.

Dylan Eldredge, Cypress, 2022
Eldredge is one of the sleeper quarterbacks in Orange County even though he shouldn’t be. He has been a far above average quarterback for three years now. He completed 23 of 35 passes for 253 yards and four touchdowns in Cypress’ overtime upset win over San Juan Hills. Cypress is a contender to win the Empire League title and it’s largely due to Eldredge.

Alonzo Esparza, Culver City, 2025
I saw Esparza and Culver City at the Battle at the Beach passing tournament this summer and I knew Culver City had something with him. Replacing Zevi Eckhaus is no easy task and the freshman Esparza is filling in nicely. He completed 26 of 36 passes for 352 yards and a pair of touchdowns in a 31-0 win over West Torrance. He has offers from Florida State, Texas A&M and Minnesota among others.

[player_tooltip player_id="25228" first="Maalik" last="Murphy"], Serra, 2022
Murphy has all the tools and has been a star at showcases and camps but hasn’t had a standout game to make his mark at Serra. He had that game in a win against Long Beach Poly. The Texas-bound senior threw for 341 yards and three touchdowns in the huge win. Murphy has the ability to have games like this all the time and if he does, Serra is a real dangerous team.

Lachlan Rosmalen, San Clemente, 2022
It’s apparent that San Clemente’s offensive coordinator trusts Rosmalen more than he did in the spring and with good reason. He has put together two strong games for the Tritons early this season. Rosmalen completed 66 percent of his passes for 208 yards and two touchdowns in San Clemente’s 15-13 win over San Jacinto. An improved Rosmalen makes San Clemente a serious threat to win the South Coast League and make some noise in the playoffs.
