During last years short season, the Saints only had 3 games. They went 2-1 and the future was looking bright. They took a tight loss to St. Vincent Palotti 15-6 week 1. Week 2 versus St. Johns Catholic Prep (Buckeystown) the Saints won 53-0, and week 3 versus St. Mary’s 69-0.
During their scrimmage vs Gilman the Saints played better as the reps piled up. They played a lot of guys which made some veteran players snaps scarce, but allowed the newcomers and rising 23’s and 24’s to show what they could do. Weather cancellations hindered the Saints practice week so it was good to be able to play full contact against an opponent. For the short amount of practices, the team played with good energy and effort.

[player_tooltip player_id="172809" first="Jordan" last="Brooks"] - QB
As a transfer from national power house St. Francis, a lot of hype is around Jordan. He will have to grow and learn to produce under pressure. When he has a clean pocket he showed good ball placement. Excited to see him really let it rip, expectations are high for Brooks.

Derry is the saints big play guy on offense. He can stretch the defense with his speed and is a technician in route running. One trait that is not shown in his sophomore film is his elusiveness. During the off-season I’ve had multiple opportunities to see him play in 7on7 tournaments, he always makes the first guy miss. I’ve witnessed his versatility lining up at outside receiver, slot, and even catching passes and jet sweeps out of the backfield. This summer he showcased his route running ability at camps such as Temple, Towson, and U.S. National Team camp. Clips of each are on his Twitter: [player_tooltip player_id="90672" first="Josh" last="Derry"] ’s Twitter
