The order referenced below of each athlete does not directly reflect his recruitment. You can be the #1 ranked player in the state and not be a Conference POY favorite. There are numerous variables which go into who is selected, including the team’s overall success. Have a look at who I would have as the Mt Hood's leading candidates for POY heading into the season.
<strong>OFFENSE</strong>
1.[player_tooltip player_id="147244" first="Luke" last="Ash"] 23’ RB Clackamas- Ash sliced up opponents last Spring as a Sophomore, carrying the ball 99 times for 721 yards (7.2ypc) and 9 TDs in 6 games. You can expect him to get the ball 20+ times a game, running behind one of the best lines in the state.
2.[player_tooltip player_id="104685" first="Riley" last="Williams"] 23’ TE/WR Central Catholic- If CC does this right Williams is somewhat indefensible. His ability to run after the catch is special as he could literally be offered by everyone before he is done.
3.[player_tooltip player_id="28838" first="Miles" last="Williams"] 22’ WR Clackamas- As noted Williams had a phenomenal summer and will be a primary target on a loaded team. His numbers should reflect a POY type season.
4.[player_tooltip player_id="28839" first="Jordan" last="King"] 22’ WR Central Catholic- I’m a huge advocate of King as I think his potential is through the roof. Few have more experience or snaps under his belt, winning a state title, and playing as a freshman on both sides of the football.
5.[player_tooltip player_id="28876" first="Riley" last="Peterson"] 22’ WR Clackamas- I think Peterson made a smart move with the transfer from La Salle. He would have dominated 5A competition and been bored. He should make a big splash and could be a state statistical leader.
<strong>DEFENSE</strong>
<div></div>
<div></div>
<div> 1.[player_tooltip player_id="28840" first="Kaden" last="Ludwick"] 22’ DE Clackamas- I expect Ludwick to have one of the best seasons of any defender in sometime within Oregon. He will be a favorite for Oregon 6A POY honors and could end up with double digit sacks and tackles for loss.</div>
<div> 2.[player_tooltip player_id="28870" first="Kaden" last="Schell"] 22’ DT Central Catholic- Schell is a disrupter on the interior, constantly making plays. He will be a three-year starter with a state title under his belt, while currently sitting on the D1 bubble.</div>
<div> 3.[player_tooltip player_id="28861" first="Logan" last="Chastain"] 22’DT Clackamas- Maybe the strongest player in the state. Chastain earned 1st team all-league honors as a Sophomore. He will cause serious problems for his opponents on the O-Line, as they also have to account for Ludwick.</div>
<div> 4.[player_tooltip player_id="28865" first="Andrew" last="Collins"] 22’ LB Barlow- One of the more underrated players in the state. Collins broke out as a Sophomore, helping his team to the state semifinals. He won’t be a big time recruit due to size, but he is legit.</div>
<div> 5.[player_tooltip player_id="28860" first="Zachery" last="Grisham"] 22’ DB Central Catholic- Look for Grisham to have a monster season statistically. He is incredibly athletic, will be a three-year starter, and could be a big contributor offensively.</div>
<div> 6.[player_tooltip player_id="28839" first="Jordan" last="King"] 22’ LB Central Catholic- Look for King to put up big numbers and be a double digit D1 offer guy. Colleges love the fact that he can play at the highest level on both sides of the football.</div>
<div> 7.<strong>Timmy Mitchell Jr.</strong> 24’ DB Central Catholic- The youngster broke out at the Les Schawb All Star Game over the summer, earning MVP honors as the youngest participant ever to play. He could be a 1st team All Mt Hood guy on both sides of the ball this season.</div>
<div> 8.[player_tooltip player_id="110175" first="Sully" last="McDaniel"] 23’ LB Clackamas- Remember the name. McDaniel has the potential of being one of the top recruits in the region. Expect the 6-3 220-pound LB to be all over the field and also a standout at TE.</div>
<div> 9.[player_tooltip player_id="28835" first="Emar’rion" last="Winston"] 22’ DE Central Catholic- Everyone knows the name. It will be interesting to see how he performs and where he ends up playing positionally. The talent is obviously there, just numerous question marks.</div>
<div> 10.[player_tooltip player_id="28874" first="Ethan" last="Lucore"] 22’ LB Sandy- Lucore earned all-conference honors as a Sophomore and has continued to up his stock, as one of the league leaders in tackles.</div>
