Mr. Football: 6A Pre-Season Watch List

With less than 3 weeks to kickoff it means it is pre-season awards watch list time. Let’s kick that off today with a look at Class 6A and the watchlist for the Mr. Football award. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/branson-robinson/">[player_tooltip player_id="104151" first="Branson" last="Robinson"]</a> | RB | Germantown | SR How could Robinson not be the first name mentioned? The Germantown RB recently pledged his commitment to Kirby Smart’s Bulldogs of Georgia and the Jackson-area star is ready to prove why. Robinson averaged nearly 10 yards per carry in only 9 games last year with 15 TD’s. The senior looks to navigate the way for a team that struggled at times last year. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/kabe-barnett/">[player_tooltip player_id="104068" first="Kabe" last="Barnett"]</a> | QB | Oak Grove | SR Being a returning starting QB for the defending state champions should be enough to land Barnett on this list in itself. Barnett is a true duel-threat with terrific athleticism. Don’t be fooled though, even with some projecting him as a wide-out at the next level, there is obvious arm talent. Barnett completed over 60% of his passes for nearly 2,500 yards as a JR and took great care of the football with only 5 INT’s. Big numbers are on the horizon for Barnett <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/dmariun-perteet/">D&amp;#8217;Mariun Perteet</a> | RB | South Panola | JR You can’t have a 6A pre-season award list without a member of South Panola. Perteet blossomed as a JR for Coach Ricky Woods’ bunch with 15 TD’s in only 9 games. Perteet showcases great vision with make you miss ability and breakaway speed. Perteet currently holds 2 Power 5 offers but I expect that to grow immensely in the coming months. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/tyrell-pollard/">[player_tooltip player_id="104208" first="Tyrell" last="Pollard"]</a> | WR | Oak Grove | SR Another defending state champion, Pollard pops off tape with his mixture of speed and length against quality competition. Numerous D1 offers are associated with Pollard and simply turning on the tape shows why. 1,000 yards receiving to go along with 15 TD’s as a JR garners attention. <a href="https://prepredzone.com/player/rj-moss/">[player_tooltip player_id="104421" first="RJ" last="Moss"]</a> | DE | Biloxi | SR These type of awards are notoriously difficult for guys on the defensive side of the ball but to win, especially as a d-lineman, and one needs big sack and TFL numbers. Moss is capable of bringing both of those numbers to the table. Moss is a recent Mississippi State pledge who had 5 sacks and 9 TFL in 2020. For Biloxi to be successful they will need a big output from the big fella up front. &nbsp;
