Continue ReadingNearly 50 of Nebraska’s and Western Iowa’s brightest stars attended the Future50 Media day presented by Stephen Warren and our good friends over at Warren Academy. Players that attended were able to have professional pictures taken, interact with other top players in the state, and talked shop with several coaches. One of the main events was the information session regarding the new Name Image Likeness (NIL) rules that have been implemented by the NCAA. This provided a great way for players to learn the intricacies of NIL, creating a brand for themselves, and locking down endorsements.
After the NIL informational, players were able to talk to various media outlets and answer interview questions…. say less! Although, we weren’t able to talk to everyone we did manage to track down some players. During the interviews, we found out how players kept busy over the summer, what they would like to improve, and several other questions.

Here is who we talked to:
Wyatt Hatcher Wyatt Hatcher 6'3" | 220 lbs | LB Lewis Central | 2022 State IA (LB) – Lewis Central – 6’3″ 220 lbs
Wyatt is a huge playmaker on a super talented Lewis Central team. He is a force at linebacker with an intense, highly physical style of play. The scary part for opposing offenses is that he is still improving and expected to really catch his stride this year. Wyatt has taken advantage of 7v7 competition, college camps, and other workouts to fine-tune his already impressive skills, mentioning pass coverage/fluidity and his 40 times as some areas that could improve. His film is entertaining to watch; he consistently finds himself around the football or creating chaos in the backfield. When asked why coaches need him on their team, he explained his leadership skills, team-first mentality, and high effort as some intangibles that make him stand out. Very excited for Wyatt and what he can do this upcoming season.
@WyattHatcher1 is one the best LB prospects in the area and has been getting a lot of attention from FBS & FCS programs. #WAFuture50 powered by @soldier_sports and @MakovickaPT #Iowapreps @lc_ftbll #D1fferent pic.twitter.com/lQ7cF1QrR6

Kyson Van Vugt Kyson Van Vugt 6'7" | 230 lbs | DL Western Christian | 2022 State IA (DE) – Western Christian – 6’7″ 235 lbs

Kyson is another player that is primed to increase his stock significantly this upcoming season. Van Vugt is already receiving D1 offers after his first year on the gridiron. He has maintained a busy summer; aside from baseball season, he has participated in various camps and visited colleges showing major interest in the promising lineman. His film shows a player with good instincts and a great ability to play both the pass and run very effectively. He is also versatile and can play anywhere along the defensive line; Defensive coordinators can’t wait to get Kyson on their rosters and tap into his enormous potential.

Jonathan Humpal Jonathan Humpal 5'10" | 165 lbs | RB Lewis Central | 2023 State IA (RB) – Lewis Central – 5’10″ 165 lbs
The final interview for Future50 went to the speedy junior RB Johnathan Humpal. Humpal is going to be an explosive back and will definitely cause some matchup nightmares with his versatility. Primary a runner, Humpal says that he feels comfortable lining up as a receiver in the slot or catching out of the backfield. Jonathan has been in the lab this summer soaking up as much as he can at camps and adding muscle onto his frame. A slightly under-the-radar prospect that has managed to catch the eye of in-state schools, hoping to keep the dynamic back in Iowa. This is with very good reason as they would be receiving a hungry young man willing to work and look out for his teammates. I’m excited to see what year 3 has in store for Jonathan
A trio of Titans on the field tonight in Lincoln.
