WR/TE Standouts at EXOS Showcase

Besides WR MVP Ellis Rogers and Overall MVP Runner Up [player_tooltip player_id="131857" first="Tripp" last="Riordan"], the WR/TE group in Frisco was a solid group with several players turning heads.
WR Standouts
Wyatt Watson – Lake Minneola (FL) 2022 – 5’11 184lbs
Watson had a strong day in the athletic testing, setting the bar in the one leg broad hop with each leg at 8’2 with his left leg and 8’0 with his right. He also had a 1.59 10yd split. Despite having limited time at the WR position since transitioning from RB, Wyatt was a detailed technician far beyond his experience. He used his quick change of direction, incredible route running, and impressive field vision to routinely find himself open. His burst out of the break, explosion to a 2nd gear after the catch, and squirrelly YAC ability make him a dangerous threat out of the slot. It’s no wonder he was able to compete in the Florida showcase with names like [player_tooltip player_id="127993" first="Jalen" last="Brown"] and [player_tooltip player_id="128032" first="Raymond" last="Cottrell"] and come out on top as the WR MVP.
Hunter Summers – Prosper 2023 – 6’2 165lbs
Summers, fresh off a WR MVP performance in Frisco earlier in the year, put on a show once again. He is a strong route runner with a long wingspan that can pluck the ball out of the air with ease. Hunter made the top catch of the day, elevating over a defender and hauling in the pass with one hand before crashing to the ground to complete the phenomenal contested catch in the end zone. Aside from being a solid receiver, Hunter excelled as a DB as well. He was patient as a CB, reading the routes in front of him before breaking on the pass and getting the tip or pick. Often times he seemed to know what was coming before the WR made a cut.
Cayden Carpenter – Christoval 2023 – 5’8 130lbs
Carpenter is your traditional slot receiver that wins with exceptional change of direction skills, and strong hands. He is able to get separation with crisp cuts, or by simply running by the defender, and has a 31.7” vertical to help him go up and snag the ball at its highest point.
Estaban Deras – Plano 2023 – 5’9 150lbs
Deras, much like Carpenter, fits in the slot role really well. He is able to change directions fast, has a 31.8” vertical jump, solid hands, and ran a 4.8 40yd dash. Deras made several tough grabs over the middle of the field, and gave DBs fits all day long.
TE Standout
Davion Hardy – Navarre (FL) 2022 – 6’3 190lbs
Hardy has a well-built frame that suits his skill set very well. He is more of a blocking TE but is a capable possession receiver.
