In this article:
The class of 2024 has started to take shape over the past few months. Over the past few days, we have seen the top player in the state of Arkansas for the class of 2023 commit to the University of Arkansas. In this article, we are going to look at a tight end rising through the ranks in the class of 2024. Let’s take a look at DeWitt tight end Greyson Riggins Greyson Riggins 6'3" | 190 lbs | ATH DeWitt | 2024 State AR .
The first we must examine is that Riggins is not the typical tight end. Riggins plays all over the field for the Dragons of DeWitt. Riggins plays the tight end, wide receiver, and quarterback position on the offensive side of the ball. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the ball he plays the defensive end position. Riggins’ versatility is going to be valuable over the next few years.
Looking first, at the offensive side of the ball. Anytime a player can wear multiple hats it makes scouts and college coaches sit up and take notice. Split out wide at the receiver position he does a good job running routes and creating separation from the opposing defender. From both the tight end and wide receiver positions he does an impressive job of hauling the football in for a reception. Meanwhile, he does a good job of blocking for his teammates. The young man is an extremely unselfish player on both sides of the football.
On the defensive side of the ball, Riggins can play all along the defensive line. He shows good explosion getting out of his stance. Riggins does not miss tackles on the defensive side of the ball, and he uses his 6-3 size well in getting into the offensive backfield. However, it will not atter what side of the ball he plays on, Riggins has the potential to become a playmaker.
Riggins is bouncing back from offseason surgery on his knee. He has approached the rehab process the same way he does a game during the season. I like what Riggins brings on the offensive side of the ball his size and athletic ability translate well to the tight end and wide receiver positions. He has the ability to go up and high point the football. The 2024 class is starting to take shape and he is going to be a player to keep an eye out for in the class of 2024 over the next few years.
