QB Colton Allen Colton Allen 6'3" | 195 lbs | QB Valor Christian | 2022 State CO 6’3″/195 Valor Christian
Allen leads one of the more prolific offenses in the state, as the Eagles are surrounded with D-I talent. Having the #1 player in the state, RB Gavin Sawchuck, will no doubt make Allen’s life easier, as Valor Christian will implement a heavy run attack that will open up passing lanes for the Senior QB. Despite limited action a year ago, this will be Allen’s time to shine. In 2020, Allen completed 12 passes on 17 attempts for 182 yards to go along with 4 passing touchdowns and 1 lone interception. Even though the sample size is small, Allen has the intangibles to be the next great Valor Christian signal caller.
QB Brandon Severns Brandon Severns QB Regis Jesuit | 2022 State CO 6’2″/ 185 Regis Jesuit
After three years being in the Red Raiders program, Severns is finally getting his shot at being QB1. Severns is no stranger to waiting his turn, as he backed up highly touted prospect QB Nicco Marchiol for two years before he darted to play at a bigger program in Arizona. The lanky Severns biggest strength is his arm talent and his improvisation in the pocket when a play breaks down. If he can continue to improve his accuracy, expect an unexpectedly successful year from the Regis Jesuit quarterback. Despite the waiting game, Severns’ patience has paid off, and he will have one year to lead the Red Raiders to a deep playoff run.
QB Dane Dougherty Dane Dougherty 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Mountain Vista | 2022 State CO 6’4″/ 210 Mountain Vista
Ranked the #1 QB prospect in the state of Colorado according to Prep Redzone, there’s not a whole lot that Dane Dougherty Dane Dougherty 6'4" | 210 lbs | QB Mountain Vista | 2022 State CO can’t do. To begin, his prototypical frame makes scouts drool, and it’s hard to find someone with better arm talent in the state than Dougherty. Dougherty has seen his fair share of growing pains in recent years past, but he is ready to put that behind him and take full advantage of his athletic tools. If Dougherty can have the season that many are expecting, Mountain Vista should be a fairly well balanced team during the 2021 fall campaign.
QB Antwuan Jackson Jr Antwuan Jackson Jr 6'1" | 180 lbs | QB Douglas County | 2022 State CO ., 6’1″/180 Douglas County
Another intriguing prospect in the class of 2022, Jackson Jr. is the ideal dual-threat quarterback, as he gives the Douglas County Huskies a whole new dimension on offense. Rated the 3rd best quarterback prospect in the state, Jackson Jr. will have the ability to win games thanks to his legs alone, as there aren’t many athletes with such game changing speed. Although he needs work being more of a seasoned and accurate passer, Jackson Jr. explosiveness as a runner raises many eyebrows. During the 2020 campaign, the dual-threat field general completed only 40% of his passes and averaged roughly 126 yards per game, both numbers he would like to vastly increase while working to transform himself into a complete quarterback.
QB Cole Hansen Cole Hansen 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Arapahoe | 2022 State CO 6’3″/ 190 Arapahoe
Last and certainly not least is the talented gunslinger from Arapahoe High School. Cole Hansen Cole Hansen 6'3" | 190 lbs | QB Arapahoe | 2022 State CO , standing at a well above-average height of 6’3, has as much potential as the rest of the quarterbacks in his class. Just a season ago, Hansen passed for 1,300 yards, averaging roughly 170 yards passing per game. Unlike Jackson Jr. who is the prototypical dual threat, Hansen relies more on his arm to make big plays down field. However, this doesn’t mean the 6’3 QB fails to have an athletic bone in his body. Hansen possesses a great sense of pocket presence, as his footwork most often does not disappoint. Ranked the 7th best QB prospect in the state, opponents will find it difficult to stop the aerial passing attack of the Arapahoe Warriors as the 2021 season goes along.
