Breaking Down the Top 5 in 2024

With the update of our 2024 rankings, now is a good time to look at the top five in the class, and present you with a look into the future of high school football in the state, as each of these sophomores look to make their mark this season. Oscar Smith DB [player_tooltip player_id="157078" first="Asaad" last="Brown"] Jr In his freshman season at another school, Brown played both DB and WR, but is choosing to stick with DB as that is where most colleges see him playing at the next level. The 6’1" DB should see a lot of time at powerhouse Oscar Smith as the Tigers look to repeat as state champs, and, alongside [player_tooltip player_id="127097" first="Sherrod" last="Covil"], Brown could be part of another dominant Smith defense. Over the course of last season, Floyd continued to get better. Adams has speed, hands, and can run routes with the best of them. Wiggins proved that during the season at King George and the Foxes advanced deeper into the playoffs than they had in quite a long time. Now, coming into his sophomore year, Wiggins will have more put on him and it will increase his spotlight. Wiggins is 6’3″ and had great hands for a receiver as young as he is.
