Some of their major talent, including their star QB, are returning in 2021 and they’re hoping to make another run. They had an up and down season but found their stride when it mattered most and they went all the way to Indianapolis.
The Knights are led by Head Coach Kyle Lindsay. Lindsay is a fantastic coach and the players love him. He’s a player’s coach and builds those relationships through hard work and trust. Lindsay holds his players accountable and then leads by example. He’s hoping to build off of the success from last year and see if they can’t get over the hump.
Last year, the Knights’ offense was humming. They started a bit slower but then midseason they figured it out During the first half of the season they averaged 20 PPG. The second half of the season was a completely different story. When they got hot, they got hot. The Knights were putting up 45 PPG during their run and were torching defenses.
A lot of that success was in part of their QB, Carson Clark Carson Clark 6'2" | 185 lbs | QB Bishop Luers | 2022 State IN , finding his stride. Clark is heading into his senior year and his development has been fantastic. He’s a lefty so that’s just an extra bonus. He throws a very pretty football with a soft touch. He’s able to throw it on a line when he needs to or drop it over the back of an LB when he needs to. He can run, but it’s not his best trait. He’ll make a run here and there and extend a drive but he’s best inside the pocket. He will slice and dice defenses and make you pay if you leave him room. He’s a 0-star recruit with 0 offers. That’s absolutely criminal and I will be sending his tape to some of my connections. He can play and the Knights have immediately become part of my must-watch list in 2021.
Clark will be throwing to his main target Brody Glenn Brody Glenn 6'2" | 180 lbs | WR Bishop Luers | 2022 State IN . Those 2 have a fantastic connection and Clark trusts Glenn. Glenn will go up and make every catch. He’s able to adjust in the air and come down with it. Glenn has spent his summer working on 7 on 7 camps and trying to get better. He’s spent time working on footwork and getting a better understanding of how to win at the line of scrimmage.
The Knights start their season on the road on the 20th of August against Carroll. That’s going to be a fantastic matchup. We recently covered Carroll in the series if you want to get an understanding of both sides. Bishop Luers then returns home before hitting the road for a few weeks. They finish their season at home back-to-back weeks against South Side and Fort Wayne Snider. Clark took a huge jump last year and they’re hoping he takes another jump this year and they can get over the hump. We will find out here in a few weeks if they’re able to take that next step.
