August Edition Prep RedZone Arkansas Newcomers 2022

Prep RedZone Arkansas does ranking adjustments four times a year. The group that I get the most excited about is the newcomers we add to the prospect list. Over the summer, we have seen plenty of talented players and the list growing as much as it has reflected that fact. We are going to look at some of the newcomers that are entering the rankings in this article as well as focus on a few prospects on a weekly basis. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="171123" first="Trenton" last="Stokes"]-Wide Receiver-Russellville</strong> The 2022 class is loaded with talented wide receivers and [player_tooltip player_id="171123" first="Trenton" last="Stokes"] enters the rankings. Stokes enters the rankings coming off of a strong 2021 season and a strong offseason this summer. Last season, Stokes caught 32 passes for 278 yards and two touchdowns. The potential is there for Stokes to have a strong 2021 season. Stokes is a sleeper that could do some big things this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="179317" first="Jabri" last="Artis"]-Linebacker-Malvern</strong> Artis is a versatile athlete looking to bounce back from a collarbone injury last season. The Malvern Leopard earned all-conference honors two years ago and has the potential to have a strong season this season. He is an athletic player that is all over the field for Malvern. Artis was off to a great start to the 2020 season before going down with an injury. Scouts and fans should look for a big season from Artis, he is a player that has something to prove this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="173495" first="Javin" last="Steward"]-Defensive Line/Linebacker-El Dorado</strong> Steward is an extremely athletic linebacker that has great versatility for the Wildcats. El Dorado has possibly the best linebacker corps in the state and Steward is another tackling machine for the Wildcats. Steward racked up 78 tackles and four sacks last season and is a nightmare for the opposing offensive line to account for and block. Steward is a player that has the potential to blow up this season and he has the speed to be a nightmare for opposing teams. Look for Steward to have a strong season for the Wildcats. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="172297" first="Jake" last="Brotherton"]-Offensive Line-Mena</strong> Brotherton is a talented offensive lineman that has managed to fly under the radar up to this point. Brotherton is a versatile offensive lineman that uses strength well. He can use his power well to keep opposing defensive linemen off balance. Scouts and coaches will love how versatile Brotherton is. The young man can play every position on the offensive line and do so at a high level. Mena is going to be a talented team to watch and Brotherton is a player to keep an eye on this season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="161348" first="Gray" last="James"]-Wide Receiver-Little Rock Christian</strong> James is a matchup nightmare for the opposing defensive secondary. James is 6-6 and can use his size well to go up and snag the football. James has the potential to be a consistent red zone factor for the Little Rock Christian Warriors. Little Rock Christian has the potential to have a strong passing game this season. Quarterback [player_tooltip player_id="149571" first="Walker" last="White"] is going to be looking for receivers that can make plays. James has the talent the size to be a factor for the Warriors this season.
