Offensive Spotlight
Ethan Young Ethan Young 6'0" | 210 lbs | QB Liberty | 2022 State AZ , QB, 6’2″ 200lbs, O’Connor ’22
Young has had an interesting high school career thus far. He played his junior season at Mustang High School in Oklahoma, moved to Arizona in January where he attended Liberty High School, then transferred to O’Connor where he will play for the 2021 season. He sizes up with a solid frame at 6’2″ 200lbs and possesses a talented arm to pick apart defenses when he has the time to throw. He delivers with a smooth throwing motion and flashes a snappy release. Quick release overall and he has shown the ability to process and make quick reads to get the ball out quick, and also can sit back and use his arm to stretch the field. Young has shown anticipation on some throws on his 2020 film and has the arm strength/velocity to fit in tight window throws when needed. He does an excellent job using touch on verts, corners, and posts to throw receivers open. He’s shown the ability to deliver throws on the run, and is a sleeper ’22 QB to get on your radar as we head into the fall. He holds a 3.7 GPA and has seen interest from numerous FCS and DII programs, as he still awaits his first offer.

Defensive Spotlight
Collin Gorcey, DB, 5’11” 180lbs, Ironwood Ridge ’22
Gorcey flashed some potential in 2020, but still has much room to develop. With that being said, it will be interesting to see if and how big of a leap he can take from his junior to senior season this fall. He displayed solid play recognition and did a fairly good job of shedding blocks to put himself in position to make plays or force hesitation from ball carriers. He flashed physicality in coverage to bump receivers off their route a little bit which is something he could build off off and capitalize on in 2021. Gorcey shows solid pursuit and possesses good speed and range to track down ball carriers on the opposite sideline. Gorcey will have to improve his closing speed and strength at the POA, as he has a tendency of hesitating too long after he breaks down. If he can improve his closing speed alone, it will make his production sky rocket compared to last season. He holds a 3.3 GPA and potential as we head into the 2021 season, and Gorcey will be a big sleeper to keep tabs on throughout the year.
