Here are the Purple Cats’ top performers from Friday’s 2021 season-opening win over the Warriors.
Jordan Smith | 5-9 RB
Smith carried Ariton to a big win. The shifty tailback scored two touchdowns out of the backfield and made the Dale County defense work to bring him down. Smith is a player that can change direction quickly and can cut upfield for extra yards after contact.
Landon Tyler | 6-3 WR
Tyler played a big role in Ariton’s success in the passing attack. At 6’3”, Tyler had a height advantage over the smaller Dale Counry defenders and out worked the defense. He ran consistent routes and had a solid outing with a touchdown reception.
Ian Senn | 6-0 QB
Senn showed prolific poise in the pocket and delivered accurate throws to his wide receivers. He can scramble out of the pocket with his legs and is also a stellar player on defense. Against the Warriors, Senn recorded an interception for his defense.
Kyron Danzy | 6-5 DT
Danzy made his presence known the entire game on Friday. He was consistently in the backfield getting pressure on Dale County’s quarterback Alex Banks and got off blocks to make quick tackles.
Andyn Garris | 5-5 WR
Garris has a small frame, but he can make defenders miss. In receiving, Garris runs routes well and can catch any pass thrown his way. He displays great speed after the catch and can also be the kickoff specialist for Ariton.
