All-Montgomery County Preseason Team (Offense)

With the season approaching fast it’s time to release the preseason all-county team. This county is filled with talent and with this being the first full season in a long time expect to see a lot of breakout stars. <strong>Quarterbacks</strong> Will Gardner Walter Johnson- Gardner is easily the best quarterback in the county heading into the season. Gardner has the ability to make all the throws in Walter Johnson’s spread offense. Expect them to air it out a ton this season. Jaden Selby Churchill- Selby is another example of the evolution of the quarterback position. He has the ability to extend plays and make throws outside of the pocket. He is also accurate and has great ball placement from inside of the pocket. Expect this season to be a real showcase for Selby. <strong>Runningbacks</strong> Erik Howard Rockville- Howard was the man for Rockville as he put up astronomical numbers in just 2 games last year. With a full season coming up expect Rockville to feed Howard early and often. Aidan McCloskey Clarksburg- McCloskey is a powerful back with great vision. He finds the hole and hits it hard. He is tough to bring down. Clarksburg would be wise to rely heavily on McCloskey this season. <strong>Wide Receivers</strong> Daryl Harper Northwest- Harper has decided to make the move from Richard Montgomery to Northwest this season. He will team up with [player_tooltip player_id="90509" first="Peter" last="Kikwata"] and [player_tooltip player_id="90621" first="Devon" last="Anderson"] to form a dominant receiver room. Harper will be able to feast as Kikwata and Anderson will take pressure off of him. Expect Northwest to be an air raid team this year with this deadly trio. Okeyo Ayungo Rockville- Ayungo is a physical receiver that will come down with contested balls. He is always a threat in the red zone to finish off drives. With teams stacking the box to stop Howard Ayungo will get a lot of 1 on 1 opportunities and expect him to take advantage. [player_tooltip player_id="90509" first="Peter" last="Kikwata"] Northwest- Kikwata is an explosive receiver. He posses great speed and will be a dangerous deep threat. Not only that but he will also be dangerous in the short pass game as well as he is great after the catch as well. This may be the season Kikwata’s numbers match his rankings. [player_tooltip player_id="90621" first="Devon" last="Anderson"] Northwest- Anderson is one of the best route runners in the county. He is a true all-around receiver as he can do everything. He is tough to bring down after the catch, and he is a true winner as he is also a great blocker. This offense is going to be fun to watch. <strong>Offensive Line</strong> Connor Mcdonald Quince Orchard- QO had the best line in the county by far last season, they have lost a few pieces but they should still be elite. Mcdonald is a big part of why the O-Line is as good as they are. He is a dominant player, expect him to continue to maul guys next year. [player_tooltip player_id="180896" first="Zachary" last="Anderson"] Quince Orchard- Anderson is a special talent he is only going to be a Junior yet he already has an offer from the University of Maryland. He is a very versatile lineman as he can play any position on the offensive line. He will look to pad his impressive resume this season. Antonio Cruz Blair- Cruz is massive and he uses his size to his advantage. Cruz plays big and uses his size to overpower defenders. He also has the ability to move as well. This will be a big season for Cruz as he can solidify himself as a top lineman in the county. Darrius Ellis Watkins Mill- Watkins Mill didn’t field a team last Spring but they should be back this fall. Ellis is a big powerful guard. He is an old-school mauler-type guard that is very violent in the run game. Look out for Ellis’s pancakes this season. Spencer Adams Northwest- Adams has the size that coaches at the next level look for. He excels in the run game and will play a big part in Northwest’s offense. Nathan Natoli Sherwood- Natoli is one of the best tackles in the county. He is not only big and strong but he is technically one of the best as well. He has great hand placement and his footwork is second to none. He is a true stud and some college is going to get an amazing sleeper next year. <strong>Athlete </strong> [player_tooltip player_id="90593" first="Octavian" last="Smith"] Paint Branch- Smith is an insane talent as he has the ability to play any position (Quarterback, Runningback, and Reciever) and excel at each one. He is very explosive and elusive with the ball in his hands. Paint Branch will rely on Smith’s arms and legs to carry their offense next year. &nbsp;
