No prospects on this list are considered “blue chip” type recruits as of right now & only two currently hold FBS offers. With that being said, here’s who we believe could be breakout prospects this fall!
OL: Isaac Clary Isaac Clary 6'7" | 305 lbs | OL Gallia Academy | 2023 State OH , 6’7″, 305, Gallia Academy
Position Rank #12
A massive guard prospect that plays with a low pad level and adequate knee bend. Clary thrives on down blocks and looks to bury any opposing defensive lineman if given the opportunity. He’s powerful at the point of attack and uses pure size & strength to overwhelm his opponent. If he shows he can protect the quarterback in pass pro, look for the offers to come flowing in.
ATH: Tristan Thomas Tristan Thomas 5'9" | 170 lbs | ATH Akron East | 2023 State OH , 5’9″, 170, Akron East
Position Rank #5
An absolute burner with the ball in his hands that can make defenders look silly in the open field. Thomas shows great vision, easily spotting a hole and quickly accelerating to his top-end speed. He’s a ballhawk on the defensive side who’s not afraid to come up and make plays in run support. Tristan showed soft hands when lining up in the slot and was a serious mismatch against linebackers or rolled-up safeties.
QB: Braden Mantooth Braden Mantooth 6'5" | 195 lbs | QB Pickerington Central | 2023 OH , 6’5″, 180, Pickerington Central
Position Rank #8
Mantooth may have played at the junior varsity level as a sophomore, but man, did he flash. This is a tall pocket passer with outstanding touch and a calm demeanor when under duress. Like clockwork, Braden looks off single-high safeties and will throw opposite of them. He shows plenty of arm to sling it downfield on vertical concepts and will place the ball right into the breadbasket.
RB: Kayden Davis Kayden Davis 6'2" | 175 lbs | RB Alliance | 2023 State OH , 6’2″, 205, Alliance
Position Rank #4
In 2020 Davis accounted for over 1,400 yards and gashed defense after defense. He has a unique mixture of size and speed that is hard to find in a true three-down back. Kayden is physical between the tackles and keeps his feet churning on contact. He has enough god-given ability to run through you or around you. This kid is downright fantastic when split out and can run just about every route on the passing tree.
ATH: Javien Brownlee Javien Brownlee 5'10" | 175 lbs | ATH Northmont | 2023 State OH , 5’10,” 175, Northmont
Position Rank #2
A big-play threat who has a knack for finding pay-dirt in the redzone. Brownlee displayed excellent body control on under-thrown balls and some serious twitch with the ball in his hands. Javien swiftly sidesteps defenders and has a keen eye for the cutback. He can even provide a major spark as a punt returner.
DB: Tremell Wright Tremell Wright 5'11" | 175 lbs | DB Xenia | 2023 State OH , 5’11″, 175, Xenia
Position Rank #3
Man, is this young man fun to watch. I listed him as a defensive back, but he could very easily be on here as a running back as well. Wright is extremely athletic and tough as nails. He barrels through tackle attempts with excellent contact balance at tailback. On the defensive side, he’s a thumper that rolls his hips on contact forcing ball carriers to go backward. I genuinely believe this kid could play close to four positions at the next level and could be a playmaker at each one.
QB: Tayden Carpenter Tayden Carpenter 6'0" | 200 lbs | QB Ironton | 2023 State OH , 6’, 200, Ironton
Position Rank #7
A strong-armed lefty equipped with a compact release. Tayden is consistent with his ball placement and can make some big throws off his spot. When the pocket collapses, he has plenty of athleticism to extend plays and will do so with his eyes downfield searching for a target. I love how he doesn’t get rattled against the rush and can make a play with both his arm and his legs.
