Head Coach: Jeff Dalton
Mascot: Scorpions
Spring Record: 5-0
Synopsis: After crushing their five spring opponents by the combined score of 258-74, expectations are VERY high in Farmington that the Scorpions will contend for the Class 5A title. Farmington returns many of the offensive weapons they relied on in the spring and have added a key piece to the arsenal: transfer QB Brandon Furbee Brandon Furbee 6'3" | QB Farmington | 2022 State NM from Grants. Trey Griego could see action there as well. WR Chance Carrillo Chance Carrillo 5'3" | WR Farmington | 2022 State NM will be the primary target. Junior RB Jakeem Reed Jakeem Reed 5'11" | 175 lbs | RB Farmington | 2023 State NM showed flashes of his ball carrying skills in the spring and will be counted on more heavily in the fall. Defensively, Farmington is very experienced at linebacker. The Scorpions open the season with a huge test at Roswell. If they win at the Wool Bowl, an undefeated season and No. 1 seed for the 5A Playoffs would be attainable. However, their Week 2 matchup with Belen has already been cancelled because Belen’s athletic department has shut down due to moving to remote learning.

Piedra Vista opens the season with a challenging matchup against Los Lunas and ends the year with the rivalry game against Farmington. PV should be in the Class 5A playoffs.
