This is always a time where major prospects may decide to make their decisions before they get started on high school ball going into the fall. We’ve seen some of the state’s best make their college decisions in the last few weeks, and many made their commitments this week as well.
Here are some peach state prospects who recently committed to play at D1 programs this week…
Mo Clipper Jr. – Milton
The Milton Eagles will be one of the state’s top teams in the state this fall and a big reason why is because of their offensive line. Clipper Jr. plans to be the anchor of the line this fall and the Milton staff has raved about for years now. After an impressive junior season last fall, Clipper Jr reeled in offers this spring from Tennessee, Virginia Tech, Louisville, among others. One of the too offensive line prospects in North Georgia, Clipper Jr has plenty of size at 6-foot-4 285-pounds and could play tackle or guard at the next level. He’s a multi-year starter at Milton and has the film to back up all of his recent offers. The powerful lineman made his commitment this past weekend, and the Tennessee Volunteers were the team that landed his commitment. As a player, Clipper Jr. is extremely athletic for his size which allows him to give opposing linemen trouble. He’s also a problem for second-level defenders because of his ability to move so well laterally. This is also shown on the basketball court. His biggest attribute, however, is his mental capacity for the game. This is really nice pickup for the Vols who are in the rebuilding process right now.

Savion Riley – Kennesaw Mountain
One of the top playmakers in Cobb County, the Kennesaw Mountain athlete had an outstanding run in the 7-on-7 circuit due to his size and above average speed. His big spring and impressive 2020 season allowed him to earn some D1 offers from Duke, Connecticut, Georgia State, Air Force, among others. After an official visit to Duke in late June, the big pass catcher decided to pull the trigger and commit to the Blue Devils.
As a player, Riley does a great job of catching the ball down the field in 1-on-1 situations. He changes directions on a dime and has a big frame at 6-foot-2 200-pounds. He has good speed but is big and strong enough to break tackles from smaller defensive backs. He has the vision of a running back and is excellent in the screen game. He snatches the ball well out of the air and has great burst to get up the field. He high-points the football well and can make a tough grab even when a defender is in great coverage. Riley is one of the most underrated prospects in the state, but that could be changing real soon.
