There were great football players at the Grand Rapids Christian 7 on 7 last Thursday, July 15th at Grand Rapids Christian high school. Ottawa Hills, Hudsonville, Grand Rapids Christian, and Grand Ledge were the four teams that competed. These are a few players that played exceptionally well for their respective teams.
[player_tooltip player_id="30185" first="C.J." last="Jones"] (2022) | 6-1 DB | Grand Rapids Christian
[player_tooltip player_id="30185" first="C.J." last="Jones"] may have been the best athlete on the field last week. Jones has tremendous size at 6-1. He has great body control, speed, and quickness to match up with any wide receiver or tight end. [player_tooltip player_id="30185" first="C.J." last="Jones"] was lockdown in coverage versus every team. Jones ended up catching the winning touchdown against Hudsonville.
[player_tooltip player_id="103481" first="Dylan" last="Ham"] (2022) | 5-10 WR | Hudsonville
[player_tooltip player_id="103481" first="Dylan" last="Ham"] is a very sure-handed wide receiver who does a great job getting open. Ham made some great plays at cornerback during the scrimmages also. He does a great job of turning his head around and going up and jarring the ball loose from the receiver's hands. I expect [player_tooltip player_id="103481" first="Dylan" last="Ham"] to make a lot of plays for his team on both sides of the ball this upcoming season.
Jeff Kolb (2022) | 5-10 QB | Grand Ledge | Maxpreps
I enjoy watching Jeff Kolb compete. He throws the football very confidently and does a great job of making plays on the run. Kolb also got snaps on the defensive side of the ball. Kolb lined up at cornerback and did and great job of not allowing separation on the receivers he covered. I’m looking forward to watching Kolb throw the football in-game action this fall.
[player_tooltip player_id="93705" first="Todd" last="Raredon"] (2022) | 6-4 QB | Hudsonville
I liked that [player_tooltip player_id="93705" first="Todd" last="Raredon"] was not afraid to throw the football down the field. Raredon has a very strong arm with a smooth release. Raredon did a great job of competing throughout the entire scrimmage. He compiled a ton of completions on the day. [player_tooltip player_id="93705" first="Todd" last="Raredon"] is a talented player who definitely has earned his rank as one of the best quarterbacks in the state of Michigan.
[player_tooltip player_id="93707" first="Scharai" last="Horton"] (2022) | 5-9 QB | Ottawa Hills
[player_tooltip player_id="93707" first="Scharai" last="Horton"] did a great job of making pin-point throws when rolling out to his right. It appeared that the team had designed a lot of plays for Horton to roll out to his right side. He looked very comfortable doing this and it helped him complete the ball at a high percentage all day. Horton’s completions helped lead to many scoring drives for his team. [player_tooltip player_id="93707" first="Scharai" last="Horton"]’s playmaking will play a key part in the success of the Ottawa Hills football team this year.
The information on Jeff Kolb’s height and position was found on Maxpreps’s website under Grand Ledge Football roster.
