Check out five more recent commitments across the state of Texas!
1. [player_tooltip player_id="60719" first="Justin" last="Medlock"] (SR-LB) - Manvel High School (Manvel, TX) - Miami (FL)
2020-21 Season: 21 total tackles, 5 tackles for a loss, 2 sacks, 1 interception
Medlock has received multiple offers but decided to commit to his future school of Miami just today. He visited with the Hurricanes last month on June 11, but has also received offers from the likes of Arizona State, Arkansas, Baylor, Boston College and more. He only played in three games in his junior season but the numbers speak for themselves as he did a lot in that short timespan. Medlock is a hard-working player and judging by the tape is laser-focused on the ball and when the play begins to take motion, he is quick to end said play. Despite the lack of play time last season, he will likely give it all he has this season coming up.
2. [player_tooltip player_id="131430" first="Logan" last="Tanner"] (SR-TE) - St. Pius X High School (Houston, TX) - San Diego State
2020-21 Season: 43 receptions, 1,059 receiving yards, 12 receiving touchdowns
Tanner is amongst the best with his stats alone which has gotten the attention of at least 22 colleges. He has received offers from the likes of Utah, Air Force, Arkansas State and Army, and visited Utah on June 25. However, Tanner chose to commit to San Diego State. The Aztecs are getting a large tight end who is fast and is sharp on his route running. Even more so, Tanner is slippery and hard to tackle and is deadly if left open at all. He will make a great addition to the San Diego State offense.
3. [player_tooltip player_id="131391" first="Jay" last="Fair"] (SR-WR) - Rockwall-Heath High School (Rockwall, TX) - Auburn
2020-21 Season: 73 receptions, 1,310 receiving yards, 13 receiving touchdowns
Much like Tanner, Fair’s stats speak for themselves and he was noticed by many big colleges throughout the country including Florida, TCU, Arizona State and Arkansas. However, Fair went with Auburn as his school of choice after going through a string of visits with the Tigers, Florida and TCU in June. Fair is a lightning-fast receiver which also translates to him being a great returner on special teams. He also runs quick, sharp routes well that help him break away from defensive backs to get enough space to ignite the jets. Auburn is already a talented team, but the Tigers have added a lot more speed to their arsenal.
4. [player_tooltip player_id="131510" first="Tevin" last="Shaw"] (SR-OL) - Manvel High School (Manvel, TX) - Houston
Shaw also received multiple offers including from Arkansas State, Colorado, Colorado State and Florida A&M. Shaw ultimately decided on committing to Houston for his future school. Big and immovable is what every good offensive lineman should be and that is what Shaw is. He is a tank that simply lets nothing by him. He has excellent footwork and is great at creating gaps for the running back to breeze through.
5. [player_tooltip player_id="60827" first="Erick" last="Conley"] (SR-DL) - Ford Bend Travis High School (Richmond, TX) - Colorado
Conley has also received offers from various schools including Nevada, Colorado State, Houston Baptist and Navy. Conley committed to Colorado on July 13, almost a month after his visit with the Buffaloes on June 14. Conley is a powerful defensive lineman who can bulldoze through the offensive line like butter. He is both fast and is like a raging bull on the field whenever the ball is snapped. Conley is a fun player to watch and will be when he dawns on the black and gold of Colorado.
