The 2022 signal caller has a couple offers on the table from the likes of Utah and Nevada, but remains uncommitted. Having impressed while attending multiple off-season events and tournaments, he put together a fantastic Spring season and is one of the top returning quarterbacks in the state this Fall. He shows great pocket mobility and escapability while able to make off-platform throws into tight windows and takes what is given underneath while staying poised in the pocket. Possessing a pretty quick release and doing a good job at using his lower body/hips to put good spin and torque on the ball, he can throw into a phone-booth from 30+ yards out and puts good velocity and touch to throw his receivers open and lead them away from tight coverage.

Only a rising Sophomore, Schakel is extremely talented and has a bright future at the quarterback position. Although a pocket passer, he flashes good natural instincts when under pressure and can weave his way around defenders while keeping his eyes downfield and delivering a nice ball with good zip and touch. He does not force bad throws and surveys the field well while looking off defenders and calmly going through his progressions while not afraid to throw it up and let his receivers make a play. Already holding a FBS offer form Nevada, expect him to be a 10+ offer kid by the time he is done with his high school career.
[player_tooltip player_id="87368" first="Joshua" last="Wood"], Graham Kapowsin HS
Wood is already a multi-offer kid and has legit FBS level abilities in college with nice upside. Possessing a huge arm, the ball jumps out of his hand downfield with very impressive touch and zip for 30+ yard throws into tight windows. Able to look off third level defenders and use his eyes to move linebackers, he is balanced in his delivery while not always looking deep but checking down when needed and standing tall in the pocket against pressure off the edge. Overall, he is a very balanced quarterback and will be fun to watch in his Senior season.
[player_tooltip player_id="151893" first="Avery" last="Walker"], Mount Si HS
Avery leads one of the best teams in the state, and has a terrific frame and overall size for the next level while showing a high delivery and good mechanics while standing in the pocket. On film, he shows a big arm and can throw on a line when delivering to both in-breaking and out-breaking routes. A very smart player that can see the entire field, he is also a threat on the ground with nice open field speed and elusiveness against defenders, often forcing bad angles and missed tackles. Able to extend plays with his feet and throw accurate passes from awkward body angles, he should see FCS+ interest come his way as he enters into his Senior season.
