We’ve finished revamping the 24’ rankings totaling 74 players. These are young athletes who got their first season of high school football under their belts and will be names to keep an eye on as they continue to develop and hone their craft. With that being said, let’s take a first look at the 24’ Defensive Lineman.

[player_tooltip player_id="142544" first="Eddie" last="Tuerk"] Lyons Township Twitter
Mr. Tuerk is from Lyons Township, he got his feet wet on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and was a force to be reckoned with. What I like most about Mr. Tuerk is how on every play on his highlight tape he flies to the ball getting involved on every play. He has a good frame standing at 6’4 235, he gets off blocks at the point of attack by disengaging the block to make the tackle either at the line of scrimmage or in the backfield. I’m not the only one that’s high on this young man, after going on a camp and unofficial visit to The University of Tennessee he impressed the coaching staff there walking away with an offer. This will be the first of many for Mr. Tuerk as he’s ready to showcase his skillset this fall and build upon his college interest.
[player_tooltip player_id="161357" first="Porter" last="Mihelich"] Burlington Central Twitter
Mr. Mihelich is from Burlington Central, he played on JV as a Freshman where he showed what he can do. He showed glimpses during his first season of high school football where he would get pressure on the QB and finish each play until the whistle blew which is what I like most about this young man. His relentless efforts to play through the whistle and get in on every play is what caught my eye on Mr. Mihelich. He has a good frame standing at 6’1 210 and has been putting in work to hone his craft as well as further develop himself heading into this fall season.
[player_tooltip player_id="153825" first="Mason" last="Randall"] Mt Vernon Township Twitter
Mr. Randall is from Mt Vernon Township, he played on Varsity as a Freshman this past spring and showcased what he can do. What caught my eye about this young man was his ability to get into the backfield quickly by shedding the block. Standing at 5'11 200 he showed glimpses of what's to come as he continues to develop and hone his craft further. Getting his feet wet on Varsity this past spring was a good starting point for this young man, let's see how he produces this fall with a full season to shine a better light on his skillset.
[player_tooltip player_id="136750" first="Brett" last="Larson"] Kaneland Twitter
Mr. Larson is from Kaneland, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is his aggressiveness, this comes to light when he gets off the ball and attacks the opposing player getting into the backfield to make the tackle. He stands at 6’2 240 and has been working to hone his craft as well as further develop himself heading into this fall season. Mr. Larson is ready to make a name for himself come this fall season and I look forward to seeing how he performs.
[player_tooltip player_id="161196" first="Edward" last="Kentra"] Hinsdale Central Twitter
Mr. Kentra is from Hinsdale Central, he played on JV as a Freshman this past spring where he showcased what he can do. What I like most about this young man is how he plays through the whistle at the JV level and the glimpses of his full potential. Standing at 6'2 185 he was able to show a range of skill sets such as getting pressure on the QB, getting off blocks to make the tackle, and getting in the backfield quickly on the JV level. Now again, this is what he showcased on the JV level and he has yet to see how his game transitions to the Varsity level. With that in mind, keep an eye on how he hones his craft and develops further as he awaits his first Varsity snaps.

These are the young men that are getting their first look at the rankings. They put in the hard work, developed their craft, and showcased what they can do during the spring season as well as at showcases/camps. This list is bound to expand as we journey on the 24's high school careers and will continue to grow as we finish each season.
